I pulled a few more fabrics for the quilt in the new Kaffe book. I still need some more pinks. In one picture in the book the purples look like pink so I hadn't pulled any purples until I looked at the other picture.
I had one kit left over from the class I taught the last 2 weeks so I sewed sets of 2 strips. I started out with the blocks in the upper left corner but then I wanted to see how it would look in a zig zag pattern too. No decisions yet on this one.
Dad is still in the hospital but he will soon be discharged to go to a nursing home for 20 days paid by Medicare. He will get physical therapy and possible breathing therapy there. It is right next door to the building his apartment is in so it will be easy to retrieve things we need. After 20 days they will evaluate him and see if he can move back to living alone.
I added another page at the top right side of my blog; quilts with Kaffe Fassett fabric. I will be adding more quilts to it as I find time. I have a finishing class to teach today.
Hello Wanda, So sorry to hear that your Dad has been poorly. Love and prayers to you both. Hope he will be up and about as normal soon. I had another go at trying to machine quilt my first quilt started 18 months ago. I have managed to do two ditch seams around it. It isn't right but ok as a practice piece. You quilts always amaze and inspire me. Thank you for your posts. Take care.
ReplyDeletePS. I love the Pages section of your blog! What a brilliant idea!
ReplyDeleteI don't "see" the purple in that photo - but I don't see why you can't add it either. But I do concur, you need more pink.
ReplyDeleteBTW That star burst (Ithink by Paula Nadelstern) in the dar part of the blue quilt is part of my all time favorite fabrics list. (I have a kit to make a basket full of flowers, those are the prints to make the flowers.)
The fabrics you have pulled so far look fabulous. This is going to be a wonderful summer quilt. Going through the stash and pulling fabrics is one of my favorite parts of the process.
ReplyDeleteI will thinking of you and your Dad and sending good thoughts and prayers your way. Glad to hear he will be released from the hospital. That is definitely encouraging.
Thanks for the update on your dad. I hope things go very well for him when he is in the nursing home facility. Love the kit you put together.....I favor those colors a lot (and greens, too).
ReplyDeleteGlad your dad is doing better. I prefer the zigzag part of the bottom quilt. The fabrics for the Kaffe quilt are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics you have pulled so far. I just love looking at the stuff on your design wall! Glad to hear that your Dad is doing better.
ReplyDeleteHappy to hear your dad is doing better. ou must be a busy woman right now. Your fabric picks are lovely. I also like the class leftovers--the color combo is very soothing. Have a good day!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your dad is not being discharged totally ... having that buffer zone of continued care removes stress and anxiety for you and for him.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you playing with colors!!
I hope your dad is feeling better. Just don't let them release him too soon. He is fortunate that you are near enough to visit him.
ReplyDeleteHow are you doing? You're updating us on your dad, but I hope you are okay through all this. Take care.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear about your Dad, but glad he is on the road to recovery.
ReplyDeleteLets hope it goes fast. Sounds like you have him in a great place though.
Love all the work you have been able to do in the meantime and love the sunflowers your friend has added to your colorwash!
Wanda, I'm sorry to hear that your Dad is in the hospital. I hope that the hospice care helps him get back to where he can come home.
ReplyDeleteOh, those fabrics are all so wonderful -- it will be a wonderfully summery bright quilt!
ReplyDeleteHope your Dad continues to improve and can go back home.
The background is just muted enough to be background, but interesting enough to give character! Best wishes to your Dad for a speedy recovery.
