Change of plans
I never did get to the machine for that mindless stitching that I thought I would do. While cleaning the basement I was restacking some fabrics and came across this green that I think might work as a vertical sashing for these blocks. They have been on the design wall for a couple weeks now and they need to be moved for Monday. I think I will go ahead and sew the rows now and then decide on an outer border at a later date. This green is a little softer and lighter than the ones in the blocks. It will be 1" wide sashing.
It is just perfect.
ReplyDeleteWhat time is it on your side of the world. It is 2.20pm here.
Hi, How funny you changed your plans, I did the same thing on my blog. I also mentioned you in my blog, and after posting realized I should have gotten your permission first. Will you please forgive me? You are amazing, and I had to mention you. It has been a very long day of shopping with my daughter, I hate shopping.

ReplyDeleteWow! That really packs a punch!
ReplyDeleteThat is the perfect green. Isn't it nice when you find the right color for sashing when you are using so many colors in the blocks!
ReplyDeleteyou couldn't have gone out and purchased a better green! This one is perfect - it reminds me of spring and peapods!!! With mustard on top! Love it.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this beautiful pic. I am a green person and really like the way this green lets the brighter one stand on its own. Beautiful work as always!!!

Hi Wanda,
ReplyDeleteThat green ties that whole top together! I like the tiny splashes of purple in the green, too.
Are you sure you don't want to have those vertical sashings a tiny bit wider?

Yes, that green is most definitely the perfect fabric for that quilt.
ReplyDeleteThat green is perfect for the sashing. It is going to be so rich looking! Makes me think of mottled velvet.
ReplyDeleteI like your choice- I usually like the green/purple combination- and here the green sets off the purples in each block.

The missing link! you did it ;-)
ReplyDeleteI wasn't so thrilled with this while it was a work in progress. You really pulled it off, I love it. It now has a WOW factor to it, great job!
ReplyDeleteYou know I'm not generally a sashing fan, but this works so well. Almost necessary now that you see it.
ReplyDeleteHope your dad improves soon.
