A little progress

Yesterday morning I went to the quilt shop classroom where a bunch of customers meet once a month to work on projects and talk. I just took cutting equipment and more strips for my "H" quilt. In the afternoon I went to embroidery club at the sewing machine store and learned about embossed designs in embroidery. Then last night I went to computer club to hear a program about photo finishing services offered on the Internet. All in all it was a fun and educational day. I sewed a few blocks while watching "The Mentalist" last night. I have 2 more groups of fabric to add in today, some Kaffe plaids and stripes and some batiks. I'm going to add a secondary block in now and then too. I haven't decided which one but I'll work on that today too.

  3. I'm interested to seewhat those secondary blocks will be. Just got to wondering how you would lay out the dark and light H's, so scrolled back to your last post -- doesn't seem to need a particular order!

  4. Wanda, I think a bento box square OR one of your crooked cobblestone blocks would look great with the H squares. My thought would be make the alternates in solids. (I would try a couple first to see if I liked it of course)
As always I love your daring ways with color.

  7. I love the idea of this "H" quilt - it would be fun to make each child a quilt with their first initial!!!

  12. The "H" bocks are going to be so much fun to see all together. Do you have any idea what kind of alternate block you'll use with them?

  14. Love your H blocks! Very clever of you, and your colors are luscious, of course!

And thanks. Now I have to try an S block! Looks pretty straight-forward, but not as easy as an H. I'll just have to pay attention...I noticed in the book you show in your previous post that some of their blocks are mirror-image. Interesting!
