Friday fun

I took out the pink with orange dots and replaced it with the red to pink shaded fabric that was already in there. I think this will just become a baby quilt so I have probably spent enough time on designing it. I got 12 strips sets of each color sewn for the Strips that Sizzle quilt. The only way to get the true shade of purple was to take the picture with the flash.

Then I cut and sewed one batch of blocks.
Here they are again in an alternating light and dark layout.
This is going to be brighter than my 1990 collection of fabrics that I used in the first one.

  3. I just finished a strips that sizzle quilt top a few weeks ago. Somehow I managed to have enough orange and green batiks in my stash. I added a bit of a purple strip set too for some extra oomph! It's just amazing all the possible designs that can be made using those strips. I can't wait to see what you do with yours.

  4. Just love what you do with fabrics, creating to make it your own.

Baby quilt or wall hanging it is stunning.

Purples and yellows glow like they are from prisms in the sunlight.

  8. I LOVE THE PURPLE! Wanda, you make it look so easy, and I know it is not. It is the way you put your colors together that makes your quilts so striking. Cannot wait to see your sizzlin' finish!

  9. I love recognizing some of your fabrics that I also have! The Alexander Henry theme print is one I have in 2 colorways and have never known what to do with. I remember seeing your purple and gold quilt in the Strips that Sizzle book - it was my favorite then and one of the few that hold up now.
