Rosebud nears the finish line

Rosebud border time............................
Choice 1-pink and green mottled
Choice 2-green/lime mottled
Choice 3-small print med green
Choice 4-frogs on lily pads with stripey background
Here is a close up of the frog on a lily pad
Here is a coordinating frog batik that I can use for part of the back.

Which one do you like? I will choose and start sewing after lunch.

  1. I like the pink and green mottled. It makes the color of the blocks shine. I feel the other choices, although lovely, subdue the block colors

  2. I like number 1 also, but what about a narrower one between in something that is more pink than green?

  3. Definately...#1 :-)

    What a lovely quilt!

  4. Hi Wanda,
Thought I already posted but it must have gone into the ozone.
I think the frog one is funner.
Choice no. 1 is the prettiest.

  5. I vote for pink and green mottled, but I know whatever you chose will be the best.

  7. Hi Wanda,

I also like choice #1 as it has both greens and pinks and goes well with the colors in your blocks.

I just recently started reading your blog and I like all of your projects! I especially liked the pieced strata cut into triangles to make the kaleidoscope quilt. Very cool! Did you use a pattern to make it?

  8. It seems I'm in the majority here when I say I prefer #1. It seems to complement the quilt rather than stand out from it.

  9. I like the first or third border choices- I enjoy looking at the possible choices and voting a preference. You always have such beautiful fabrics - so the decision is not easy. I am sure that you will find the one that works for you the best.
    Warmest regards,

  10. #1 would be my choice. The frogs are great fun.

  11. I like #1, to pull out the pink a bit, or #2, to make more of a "frame" around the piecing....

And the frogs do make me smile!

  12. So far I've only seen one other person suggest this-- a small, narrow inner border first-- in pink. Of course-- a pink that doesn't read exactly like the pinks next to the border-- something slightly different. THEN the 1st mottled green border. Even a hot pink flange around the quilt, before that mottled green would be great. But you always have such wonderful color choices-- I don't think you could make a wrong choice here. I trust your 'color sense'.

  13. I like number 1 the best, it brings out both the colors in the quilt.

  14. I agree with Susan D. A small "stop" border before your main fabric, give the eye somewhere to rest. Best fabric you have shown is #1 - brings in the pinks as well as greens.

However, this is YOUR quilt, and I always tell friends who ask me "which fabric should I use" that whatever choice they make, it's OK - it is their quilt and as long as they are happy with the selection then nothing else matters.

  15. When I saw the first one, I thought YES, but scrolling down made me think the last one is best, it makes the colours in the quilt glow and 'frames' it whereas the first one just 'goes with it'

  16. I think a narrow #6 pink and then the #1 for the border, Do you see triangles in your sleep?
