This quilt has been waiting to be finished for over 5 years. Finally last week its turn came up. I finished the binding by machine since it will be used and washed a lot. It will look great in my living room with the red accents.I just did an all over meander with a few hearts thrown in. I did a heart in the center of each heart and then a few scattered here and there in the background.
Today I will go for our last session of making Chrismons for our Christmas tree at church. We are making them out of beads and copper wire, a new experience for me.
LOVE this quilt ! I see you stitches several hearts in your meandering quilting.
Did you stitch this quilt from the back? The stitches look like they are raised. (in the close up photo) A wonderful texture, that I have not noticed in your other pieces before.
The flannel quilt looks great! Nice colours and quilting! It will be perfect for the upcoming winter. What are Chrismons? Never heard of them. Sorry I didn't include my email in the last comments. I really didn't know how to do that. I'm sort of computer challenged.
I really like this quilt. I love your color choices, as usual! The flannel will make a very cuddly quilt - perfect for winter TV watching! I think that's a Buggy Barn pattern - am I right??
Hi Wanda, I love this quilt and have had the pattern for a long time- I keep planning to make the quilt and just never seem to get to it. I recently bought a Buggy barn pattern book called Certifiably Crazy. It has the cooliest chicken pattern that Kim from kimsbigquiltingadventure.blogspot made in October- You can see it on her blog- I loved it so much that I wanted that pattern too. There are other designs in the book that call to me.. Oh the challenge of time and choosing which patterns one has time to make... Thanks for sharing your glorious quilt. Regards. Anna

ReplyDeleteGreat job finishing this one, it is gorgeous. Unusual pattern, it looks like it was chopped and restacked? I am interested in this technique.
