I put this quilt on the basting table as soon as I finished the one I showed on Aug. 28. I like to use the tape for at least 3 quilts before I throw it away. This one just needs 4 more rows of basting. Here are the monster size scissors that I use to trim the batting when I am getting ready to baste. I also use them to cut open the blue jeans that I am going to salvage. I use a rotary cutter once I get the jeans opened up.
I am going out to the fair this morning. The bucket that sits on the sidewalk on the north side of my house has a little over 3" of rain water in it. That is a one day rainfall so the parking lots at the fair, which are grass, will probably be soft and a little muddy. Oh, and yes I need a jacket this morning. Look at the little weather gadget below labels and you will see that it is cold here this morning.

I have a pair of huge scissors too and I really like them but they are getting dull. I guess they have earned it because they are over 30 years old. I really like the quilt you are basting. How will you quilt it?
yummy colors!
Raspberry swirl with cream -- that's what this one makes me think about!
We're getting the tail end of Gustav today, they say -- and I have the migraine to prove it.
that's about the 4th migraine comment i've seen today...mine is throbbing too...i would love to make a quilt like this...so simple, but visually complex....stunning.
Love those colours in that pretty quilt.
I'm going to have to remember to check your blog whenever I feel a little down. I get so taken in by your quilts!
Oh that's just gorgeous! I love pinks, and those blocks are beautiful.
The quilt IS a raspberry ripple quilt! It's gorgeous! Have you ever tried the method of layering up a quilt using pieces of wood? I saw this as a demo by Sharon Schamber on Utube, and use it all the time. It's so much easier than trying to work on a whole quilt which is spread out. (She uses those herringbone tacking stitches too.)
Sounds like the weather is crazy everywhere!
I really love this quilt...gorgeous colors :)
