This is what I came up with for my final idea. Notice that the outside border is made of two different black background fabrics with a very subtle difference. A photo doesn't do just to this piece. It literally glows like jewels.

That is so awesome! It looks great in the photo - I bet it is really vibrant in "person". What size is it?
I totally love it. Nothing is more vibrant than batiks and they look great with the dark border. And it's made from scraps! It doesn't get better than that.
Vicki W, the piece measures 24"x26".
Joyce, Yes nothing is better than making something from scraps. Makes me wonder why I have all of the big pieces in my collection.
This one is another stunner. It reminds me of a bamboo forest. For someone with hundreds of yards of fabric in her collection, you sure make the most of scraps!
Just found your blog, your quilts are so beautiful!
I'll bet it does glow! I love it.
Diane sent me over today and I'm so glad she did. I had visited before but forgot to bookmark your site. Now that's taken care of!
Just got to your blog thru a link in Mel Johnson's.
You really deserve the name you use.
Your work is beautiful...
I do like that very much.
I sent you a response to your email but it comes back saying mailer daemon. Anyway you are more than welcome. I love your blog. It is so inspiring. Please keep it up. One of my favorite things as a quilter is looking at other people's work. Yours is exceptional.
I am here from Joyce's blog, & I just love all your wonderful bright colours, & your fabulous use of scraps!
I also love you embroidered flowers that you embroider with the machine.
