Here we are again, first day of the new month....................

The first of a new month is the same every time, I'm free of the monthly recap of the last month, I can do whatever I want.  But......what do I want.  I have so many different groups of fabric that I want to work with, that's usually where is starts for me.  I bought this group a couple years ago.  I have had it on a shelf where I see it every time that I enter my studio.

My first thought was maybe the smaller die for Snail's Trail (8").  I really enjoy piecing that block.

Then I thought about the Weathervane die from which I can make these 2 blocks.  I made these samples several years ago to remind me that there were 2 options with one die.

I have one yard of each of these light fabrics plus a fat quarter of each in the pack.  I need to figure out how many blocks I could get out of one of these.  There are a few other light fabrics if I decide on a variety instead of just one.

Just doing a lot of thinking out loud right now.

Nice groups of fabrics to work with, Wanda;))) I "eked out" my last day of Sept block yesterday (mushroom--as they are all over our lawns after all the rains--even seeing squirrels eating them!!)--
57 and sunny here this morning, I am finally starting to come out of my covid reaction...hugs Julierose

You come upon such interesting fabric lines! I know you'll make them into something beautiful. Rain, rain, rain. I need to harvest tomatoes.

We have the same fabrics quite often. Sometimes you inspire me to buy a line and sometimes I already have it! Mine has been sitting on the shelf for a while, too. Maybe I've unconsciously been waiting for your inspiration!

do you sketch out what you want your project to look like in advance or is it all in your head. Those are some pretty fabrics to work with.

You do find the most lovely fabrics and you create magic when you put them together. That's your gift.
God bless you and happy quilting 🥰

What a wonderful group of fabrics you put together and hope you have enough of each one to make the quilt that you're imagining!
I need to make a Snail's Trail.

Hugs!
