Wishes and dreams.....................

Wishes:  I wish I still had the energy and stamina I had 10 years ago.

Dreams:  I can dream about what I will make with my stash.

This is all of the 10" squares that had big blooms, some bigger than others.

There is a Kaffe quilt called "Bloomers" that has a layout that uses 3", 6", 9" and 12" finished squares.  I'll probably use the layout, but not the same fabrics as in the book.

Another dream:  I want to make a Trip Around the World with this assortment of Wm. Morris fabric.  I have been collecting  these for a few years, mostly ones I found on sale online.  I need to press the fabrics before I can cut the strips to make it.

I'm hoping to plant a couple of my tomatoes in pots today.  Rain was predicted overnight and maybe a little this morning.  I went out yesterday and pulled a lot of weeds around my little raised bed that is falling apart.  I'm not sure which year I bought the kit and put it together.  I searched blog posts and the farthest back I found it by searching for raised bed, was in 2016.  It already looked weathered in that photo, so it was before that.

  1. Good morning Wanda, I like your lovely KF big florals---and TAW has long been on my list of quilts I also want to make. I will be interested to see what method you use tube or not...;)))

  3. It’s been a bit since you made a TAW—Wm Morris fabrics will make a very fine one! Now I can dream about that too! -Roxanne

  4. Morris prints have had several iterations. I bought a bunch by Rose & Hubble 20+ years ago. Then came Barbara Brackman's version and others. TATW will be a nice way to show them off.

  6. Those Wm Morris fabrics will make a wonderful TATW. And those big blooms are gorgeous! We all need wishes and dreams otherwise we'd be unhappy. Good for you for articulating some of yours.

  7. I’m with you on your wishes for sure…needing energy and stamina ! And as another dreamer you will out do me when comes to reality of working with your stash. “Wishes and Dreams” ~ They’re both “age related” issues as my Dr’s have been saying lately…. all though ~ your fabrics show off your dreams in the works today, they are Beautiful .

  8. I went to the quilt show in Rochester, NY, yesterday and there was a Kaffe Seed Packet quilt there, plus several other quilts made with Kaffe collective fabrics. I'm right with you on the lack of stamina and energy. I notice it especially with the gardening and yard work. But it beats the alternative, so we all carry on.

  13. Oh, such beautiful florals! They will be grand in a quilt. I have lots of dreams for quilts but not the stamina to carry them out. I keep pushing though.

  14. I get the stamina pert for sure! I have been trying to do more physical activity since going on the road with the band will be starting up soon. We have two back-to-back shows for the start the new season so that will be very telling!

  15. Oh yes, perfect words from you Wanda on Wishes and Dreams, I agree 100%!! Kaffe fabrics always look glorious together although of course Philip Jacobs is a master with his floral designs. I have been drawing up a small list of a few quilts I should like to make and have some of the newer range of Kaffe and William Morris new recoloured lines to use.
