Sewing started.....................

The William Morris fabrics were finally pressed so I could cut the Trip Around the World strips.  My sciatica has kept me from standing for long times at the ironing table.  I got several bobbins wound for all of this strata sewing so I'm all set for mindless sewing.

I got those 3 strips sewn for all 4 stratas.

Today looks to be a beautiful day for all of the Memorial Day events.  82 degrees and sunshine is predicted.

  1. I love all your quilts and I’m really looking forward to the William
    Morris.

Quick question (I don’t have a quilting website so maybe you could answer in a future post): How wide do you cut the strata strips for a Trip Around The World?

  2. I am really excited to watch the progress of your trip around the world! I made my first TAW very recently and really enjoyed the process. I know you've made many of them so anxious to see how the master approaches the process.

  4. We are expecting a nice day here to, tough rain chances return tonight. You are smart to get your bobbins filled. It can certainly disrupt workflow when you have to stop the refill a bobbin.

  5. Alternating cloudy, rain, and partly sunny here - a mixed bag (humid as well). Sorry your sciatica is flaring up again - I feel for you.

  6. Wanda, I love your blog and read it every day. Sorry about your sciatica. Have you tried lowering your ironing board so you can sit and iron? Patty

  7. I've got two of those fabrics they are so pretty aren't they. Sorry you are having the same issues pressing at the board as I do.

  8. I do stretches to ward off sciatica, but I felt a twinge or two when I drove to DeKalb (100 miles, so much farther than daily errands). The WM TATW will be gorgeous!

  11. Beautiful fabrics shown today… my chiropractor gave me several exercises to do for my back with his adjustments and my faithful daily exercising it is slowly getting way better, all these “age related” issues are so frustrating.
