I did 4 layouts of order of strips for the Trip Around the World with William Morris fabric.
This is the first one.
It was hard to get all of the strips in the photo and not have them crooked.
This is the second one.
The third one.
And this was the original layout with the folded fabrics lined up before I cut strips and sewed sections of strata.
The fourth one.
As I type this late at night, I'm favoring one and four. As soon as I make a decision, I can start sewing the 4 sections together into one large strata and then talk about my pressing method.

I'm sure the right choice will just pop!
ReplyDeleteI am wondering what your thought process is to get them in the best order. I'm not sure why, but #4 looks best to me.
ReplyDeleteIn studying your previously made TATW and see hoe the changes in values are key to giving the distinct diamond and then the fading or darkening of the areas after those distinct diamonds. Makes it easier to imagine what the layouts you have will do in the pattern. Not sure I’m making any sense 😜. Just that looking at the finished quilts helps me understand what your layouts might yield.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn’t matter which one I like best its is your creation and a fun post to study.
ReplyDeleteI like the 4th the one you originally showed
ReplyDeleteThe fabric is so pretty how could you go wrong!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful fabrics. I like the mix of #4 the best. I am always amazed at how many quilts you are able to make!
ReplyDeleteI do like number one layout
