Comparison.............................

I showed the original squares a few days ago, on the left, the 10" squares from a layer cake stack.  Then I cut a few more squares and showed the photo in the center.  Now I have added some more squares in the photo on the right.  I haven't looked for any fabrics yet to cut 12.5" squares from.  I may decide I'm happy with just the 3", 6", and 9" finished squares.

I started planting the pots for the porch.  I might get more planted today or tomorrow.

I'm trying a new type of pot this year, ones with a reservoir in the bottom with a fat cord that threads down into that part.  They say they will water from the bottom.  There is a little window on the side of the bottom part that shows the water level.

I can fit 2 or 3 more pots on the bottom shelf with plants that don't need direct sun.  The large geranium might end up on the porch in front of the table because I have one more pot to plant in that set of 4 sizes.

Just lovely colors in your plantings--they look so pretty on your front stoop, Wanda.;))) so welcoming...
The 3 sizes of blocks with those big, blowsy flowers are lovely all together...nice wip.
70 here early on and the sun is rising--but rain is forecast for later on through tomorrow...maybe we can have coffee on our deck to start the day...hugs, Julierose

They flower blocks are very pretty as well as your flowers on the new table! I started watering all my house plants from the bottom and use terra cotta pots so the water absorbs via the pot as well as thru the hole in the bottom of the pot. The new pots you bought with the cord out the bottom sound ideal and especially when you can see the water level.

Flowers on the quilt, flowers on the porch, your pollinators won't know where to start!

The flower blocks intrigue me. I really like the way they collage together. Like the color mixing too

I don't think you need the 12.5" squares in your floral project. Just me thinking out loud. Your new bench is wonderful and I use those pots in my studio for the Pothos plants and they are thriving (indoors v. outdoors though). Spring at your house is looking so pretty in your photos.

Blossoming quilt top is so like your plants on your front entry. Both of them just pull you right in. SOooo gorgeous.

my prayer plant came in one of those pots but it doesn't have a window to see water level instead you have to pick up a smaller pot that is inside an outer pot to check and see how much water is in it. Not hard to do but would be nice with window. Love those big flower prints.

The flowers are all so pretty. Those pots sound very interesting. The varying sizes in the blocks add such interest and movement.

Your new table is perfect for the pots. One very hot summer I used water retention crystals in big tubs that had cherry tomatoes. They worked so well. I like your new pot ideas with a water container at the bottom and water can wick up the cord.

Stunning mix of colour in the fabrics you have gathered together here in their differing sizes. Kaffe Fassett's Bold Blooms and his Timeless Themes books are two of my all time favourites. So many quilts I would love to make from those! Your new porch table is a winner, looks so good with the plants.

What a magnificent sea of blossoms on your new top! I really like the combination of the small and large floral squares.
Enjoy working on it further!
And enjoy your beautiful flowerpots, too... Color always lifts the spirits.

I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on the flower block quilt. I'd be concerned about those flower pots becoming water-logged during a heavy rain. Can excess rain drain out of the pots?
