All eight of the diamonds for the top edge are designed. All blocks of 2 triangles are sewn. Now I need to sew these into two rows and attach to the quilt top for a finish. I think I can do that today.
These are the leftover triangles, facing right and facing left. There are 34 of one and 43 of the other. They will probably go into a ziploc bag for now. I will search through the yardage I have left and see what I can do for a backing for this one.
We had another 61 degree day. I was able to open windows on the south side of the house while the sun was shining and let in some warm fresh air.

How wonderful to open windows and air out the house!! Still only in the low 30's here today and another gray one--good for me though as i am fighting off a migraine--so no sun to contend with..

Oh, those fabrics......probably my all time favorites! I'm drooling over your quilt, even though I have one of my own from these! And it was all thanks to you showing them on your blog! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteIt's it amazing how much a row shrinks when you sew it together?
ReplyDeleteI've had a window open for a few hours the last couple of days too. Fantastic change of air in the house. So interesting to now see in the news that "house burping" is now a hot "new" thing to do. Open the windows for at least a few minutes every day no matter what the weather to get fresh air inside.
ReplyDeleteThis quilt is very pretty, once again I wish I'd gotten a FQ bundle of that fabric line when it came out. But given the no more room situation on my stash shelf...also glad I didn't. That first photo is an awesome visual of how much all those seams will take up.
a pretty finish
ReplyDeleteThe warm temperatures are wonderful harbingers of spring. Your low volume triangles are a change of pace for you -- just lovely.
ReplyDeleteI'm amazed at how many nice warm days you are having north of us we have not gotten as warm as they say we will be for five days or so now - we have barely gotten above 60 for those days and they keep saying we will be warmer.
ReplyDeleteWe made it to 50 degrees yesterday and in the 40's today, but the forecast for 40's most of this week has vanished. Possibility of freezing rain tomorrow. Ugh. This quilt is a change of pace for you, but I like it's calming vibe.

I see Diamonds in the Snow with this quilt…another of your creations that makes me smile.
ReplyDeleteThose fabrics are gorgeous. It turned out so well. You are warmer than we are today.
ReplyDeleteYou are rocking and rolling Wanda! I just love this Weather Forcast quilt! This was a good pattern to choose for it. Thanks for all your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be such a pretty quilt! What a treat to open the windows. It was in the 60s when we got home today
