Machine fixed, cutting and sewing...............

These are the blocks I was trying to sew when my machine had no tension.  When I worked at the sewing machine store, the boss showed all of the employees how to take the top off of our Pfaff machines so we could find errant threads.  I did that 2 nights ago and couldn't find any thread but cleaned out some lint.  I did some flossing of the tension discs with a folded strip of fabric and kept testing the sewing but nothing was working.

Yesterday morning I opened the top of the machine again and finally the thread that was causing the problem was visible.

I got the other combinations sewn last night too.

I got all of the rest of the strips ready to cut the final batch of 4.5" squares.  This is a total of 40 blocks, so not enough for a throw size quilt.

All of them are cut now so I have one more evening of mindless sewing ready.

Yesterday the weather people were saying we could have a wintry mix falling and making slippery roads so I did my grocery shopping in the afternoon.  Maybe today I'll get the binding cut for Purple Rosy too while I stay inside for the day.

Oh that is so great that you found the problem yourself, Wanda.
Your orange/gold/black-grays fabrics are so warm and welcoming looking. I love how this one is coming together...looks like a fun project for your "mindless sewing!!:)))
18 here this morning--I am an "early bird" today it seems; some days I just cannot stay in bed and have to get up...;(((
Skies are clouded over and I understand that they will stay that way pretty much for the whole upcoming weekend. We are also slated to get accumulating snow on Sat-Sun...gosh we just got our deck cleared off--we were afraid that the weight might damage its stability!!
I finished my Sentimental Scroll yesterday and attached it to its big bobbin...what a fun project that was!! I have one more large bobbin and plan to make another scroll...mostly using hand dyed fabrics I've collected...;)))
Hugs, Julierose

Those fabrics almost glow! I wish I knew how to take the top off my Pfaff 1475. I am sure it could use a good cleaning. I am glad you were able to find that thread causing the tension problem. Getting the grocery shopping out of the way is a good thing! At lunch I took a 7 minute drive to one of Marc's grocery stores I go to on this side of town, and here they closed the store on January 4th! It was handy to make a quick trip to. The next closest Marc's store is probably 18 minutes away; too far to do any grocery shopping at lunchtime.

Hooray for finding that thread! And I'm so sorry you are getting more slick weather. Our snow is still very much here but the temps this weekend will melt a lot of it.

glad you figured out the sewing machine - I recall taking off part of my machine to find a thread or something that I found that would create the problem and using a flashlight I was finally able to find a spot where some thread has actually twisted up between two disc I was able to slowly and gently get them out
