Strips were cut, seams were sewn, but I stopped at the point where I have to turn on the iron. I counted blocks and need to choose one more pair to achieve 63 blocks for a throw size quilt, 56" x 72".
This purple is kind of a wild card. It has purple, green, red, and orange. The green fabric above it is a possible pairing for it. I can make blocks from these 2 and if I don't like them, I'll just choose 2 more fabrics.
The Amaryllis that I received the third week of November has grown to over 24" tall and the bud stalk is finally getting ready to bloom.
This isn't a great photo, but it shows that there should be 3 blooms. I can't see any color yet so I'm not sure what they will be. I hope I'll be able to show some blooms before the week is over.
And lastly, my calming activity while watching the evening news.

hope the knitting helped...it would take more than that to calm me thru the news...
ReplyDeleteGood to get those strips together, Wanda!!
ReplyDeleteWe got a foot of snow covered with about 2" of icey stuff!! It's been years since we've had this kind of a snowy Winter. AND--this coming weekend may see more snow for us!! Our plow guy called to say he was totally exhausted and could he come today
to finish instead...so we are semi-plowed out. Lot s of drifting against both front and garage doors...;((((
hugs, Julierose
Sometimes the news of late makes me so anxious I have to turn off the TV. Cowardly, I know.
ReplyDeleteThe last combo is interesting. Amaryllis are beautiful so it will be fun seeing yours bloom. Mary says she has to turn off the news….some days I can’t even turn it on.
ReplyDeleteIt's not cowardly to turn off the news--It's self preservation. Everyday it's just what new s**t is he and his minions doing now. At least we have pretty fabric and ideas to focus on thanks to Wanda and others. :^)
ReplyDeletePurple and green combinations are lovely even your new set that is waiting. ~ My amaryllis just finished its blooming. And I brought mine home in November also. ~ Always pretty dish cloths to be working on.
ReplyDeleteI forgot to sign in on the above comment
ReplyDeleteI don't turn on the news - I read a bit in three major digital newspapers but too much of it is so disturbing, I just can't watch and listen. I quite like your wildcard pairing. I hope it plays well.
ReplyDeleteI like that fabric in the second photo. I will need to get amaryllis next year I didn't this year
ReplyDeleteHoly Moley! That is the longest amaryllis stalk I’ve ever seen! I hope it blooms a lovely color for you (well, that was a dumb thing to say - aren’t they ALL lovely colors?!) You’re making me itchy to try more batik 16-patch blocks. Yours are gorgeous, as usual!
ReplyDeleteI love the purple and green combinations - I can't wait to see how it finally ends up! I always enjoy seeing your knitted dishcloths! Would you mind sharing where you got the pattern? I'm wanting to learn to knit and these look perfect!
