The lower 5 rows are sewn together, the top row is loose blocks and there will be one more row of border blocks across the bottom. The border blocks are 9" x 10.5" so the corners will be 10.5" square.
I have placed 2 9" squares up there to test ideas for the corners. I have several 9 patch blocks left over and they would need 2 coping strips or a narrow border all around if I use them. At the right corner is a fabric I didn't end up using in the center but I had cut a 9.5" square of it. That is a test to see if I want a plain square in the corners. I have enough of that fabric to cut 4 squares the correct size. I have other fabrics I could try too. Lots of decisions to make.

Interesting dilemma for the corners. I rather like the 9-patch.
ReplyDeletereally pretty
ReplyDeleteGood that you got so much sewn together so far--lots of seam matching going on. I can see how you are pondering those corner spots...
ReplyDelete36 early on this morning but a sunny day ahead, if cold...

I like the 9-patch, too. The subtle differences in the shapes become more apparent the longer you look at it.
ReplyDeleteGiven how busy these fabrics are, the plain block corner would definitely work, and would be the direction I would lean. Another day with an expected high in the 80s here, but a change is expected Wednesday night into Thursday that may bring us some rain.
ReplyDeleteYou are so close to getting this top finished. Go Wanda!
ReplyDeleteMaybe a re-sized 9-patch for the corners? Or design a corner block, maybe continue the little squares around the outside with one big square for the inner square?
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! In quilt making, there are no wrong decisions, just "whatever you like most" and that's a joy. Purple Rosy is already a delight.
ReplyDeleteHugs!
I much prefer the pieced corner blocks over a single fabric square.
ReplyDeleteI know you will come up with the perfect solution ~ you always do.
ReplyDeleteit is looking good and a lot of thought put into it.
