Some options....................

I don't have enough of the B&W fabric to make a quilt the size I had planned and I don't want to buy any more of it.  I searched through my stash and the one on the top left is similare in style but not scale.  The bottom left piece is another Brandon fabric and the 2 styles of "chips" run in vertical rows on the fabric.  I think I could only cut the lightest stripe into squares as a substitute to continue.  The other option is to make a smaller quilt with the squares I have already cut.

I even tried "onion rings" as alternate rows but it isn't as bold.  I will continue to contemplate on this project.

I finished the binding on the Kaffe fabric quilt.  The design wall is in use right now so the portrait won't be taken until later this week.

  1. Bummer when you don't have enough of the fabric that you really want for a project, but I think either of your alternatives would mix in well and be bold enough for the contrast. Use it up!

  2. I like the onion rings, I think they should be scattered among the others more evenly

  3. If you switched to using the onions print, my eyes wouldn’t cross ;-)

  6. I do like those "onion rings" a lot--a nice change up from all the squares?

  7. Interesting opinions as what you should use as an alternate fabric. My opinion is . . . . you yourself will use what you feel is the right one for this “quilt of opinions.”

  8. I think you should use them all! It’s a Kaffe quilt after all. ❤️

  9. It’s funny to think of onion rings as “not as bold” when they are so often very bold. -Roxanne

  10. I like the idea of mixing in blocks of the Chips design. I don't know if I would space them regularly or randomly throughout the quilt - more likely random to start with. Happy contemplating.
