Final layout................

I added the 2 light leftover blocks back in and took out 2 darker ones.  Here is the comparison of Monday's layout with yesterday's layout.  The one on the right is the final layout.  I stacked and numbered the columns and brought them up to the main floor studio.  I got the seams all sewn in one direction and I'll finish the sewing today.

I finished hand sewing the binding on the second red/gray mug rug.

The backing on both of them is the same fabric as the binding.  They are 8.5" square.

I checked my cacti and I have a bud on a white one and another on the orange cacti.  On the white Amaryllis, one bud had dried up but the 3rd bud looks like it might bloom.

  2. Your final layout is looking great!! Nice you got the binding all hand sewn on mug rugs, too.
Your cacti have given you so many lovely blooms throughout this season;))) I have a couple little buds on one, but I cannot tell if they are just leftover and dried ones or new...we shall see...
The two new amaryllises rotted ;((((...I won't be planting any in water anymore...
35 here and clouded over--awaiting predicted rain...

  3. LOL -- "can you find two differences between these pictures?" And I can't. But I know if a layout doesn't look right to the layer-outer it will never look right. Good to rework it to your satisfaction.

  4. I think I saw at least one difference between the left and the right. Do I win points? :D

  5. Enchanting Tilda quilt top…. Are you sure you replaced 2 darker blocks ? I too could only find one on the bottom row. You’d have to put arrows on it for me to see it… but it was fun tying to find it. Plus your mug rugs sure will make a table setting pretty for a cup of tea.

  7. when I stack blocks to bring to the table I almost always end up with a mistake! I think how you had it arranged both times were great.

Beautifully quilted... I can copy that, I now have a walking foot... yay :-))) The binding with the red backing fabric is very pretty.
    Best wishes and happy sewing.
