It was time to jump in and start piecing sections of the butterfly quilt. I'm just winging it so far and haven't pressed any sections yet.
I pieced more sections and then it came to a standstill while I stared at it and tried to decide how to sew the center section. I think there will be some partial seams to sew it all together. I need to press all of the sections that are sewn so I can accurately measure the spaces.
I went outside to check on some plants yesterday afternoon. The Lenten Rose plants are doing well.
The Hostas haven't been killed by a freeze yet but they are starting to dry up.
The Viburnum leaves are several colors this fall. The little yellow leaf Redbud volunteer in front of it gives a nice contrast of colors.
This is one of the oldest Redbud trees. A few trunks have been cut off and this is what is left. Someday it will probably fall over. Meanwhile it gives me good shade.

The butterflies are looking wonderful, so winging it is working (like what you did there, butterflies and winging it :) )
Your "winging it" is working great! I'll be interested to see how you finish up the center. Nice colors in your yard.
Those butterflies are looking great!! such beautiful colors and your setting on that confetti fabric background is perfect!! Centers, when you wing it, always take some thought...
60 here this morning already at 9 a.m. outside walk today for us...

Beautiful. Partial seams are a must when piecing that way. The great thing about it is that no other quilt will look like yours. That is part of the beauty of quilting, you can always make it your way.
the butterfly quilt is coming along really good. So many of my plants really started to dry up fast starting last week, I can't believe how dead they all look compared to other falls. I actually wonder if they are dead or will come back next year. We decided last month that we just couldn't water everything constantly and I hope we don't lose a lot of plants because of it
Love the quilt!
All the Fall colors are shining through!

Enchanting Butterflies make this piece come alive. It reminds me of a Butterfly House we have in a University city near us. And its open year round with
Tropical temps set inside for the Butterflies to survive all winter long.
I've seen butterflies on my walks this week. One more warm day and then the cooler weather will set in.
Partial seams are always fun! The top is looking great. The Lenten Roses are looking good. I need to get mine weeded. I have some thistle coming up and I don't want it to go to seed.
For some reason, I just really love this bright fun butterfly quilt!
What glorious butterflies and the background fabric is perfectly wonderful! A very lucky someone is going to LOVE this happy quilt.
Hugs!
This is going to be outrageously cute!
