Pinwheels................
It looks just like yesterday's photo but this is the sewn top. Right now it is 60" x 72" which falls into the size quilts I prefer to make now. If I add borders (to please someone who would like a larger quilt) it will be in the size range that I no longer want to do the quilting on. I have the fabric that would work for a border, I just don't know that I want to push myself to do it. This will hang on the design wall for a few days.
Meanwhile I was putting the leftover triangles back in the project box.....and surprise!....there are way more green triangles in there than I remembered (I counted 108). The leftover blues are mostly pairs, not enough for pinwheels. There are a few pink ones hiding under the blue ones too. Maybe I should add purple to the mix and make a zigzag quilt.

That's the size I like to make, too. Plus the group that sews for chemo and dialysis clinics requires that size. I think a throw quilt is so much more usable.
A zig-zag quilt would be so pretty--and you already have all those
triangles cut, too!!:)))
Finally raining here; cold front coming through with a bit of thunder even...haven't heard that all summer long. I put the panel for a rest as I am stuck over that "layering" bit; seems a shame to "cover up" lovely fabrics--different mind set I guess...my hands need a rest at any rate...
hugs, Julierose;)))
Your blues look even better all sewn together. I like those greens in your leftover box!
Sounds like that box of triangles was speaking to you! I made a zig zag quilt of pinks and neutrals, inspired by your green zig zag. Have a second one that I need to sew together. I would love to see your process of taking them from the design wall to sewing them together. I am sure you have developed an easy method. Mine seems so tedious! (Do you listen to music as you work?)
The blue pinwheel quilt top looks great! Besides being used as a huge couch quilt, it would work for a twin IKEA bed. They're nice and low, so a 10-inch drop on the sides looks good! :)
the blue quilt looks good as is without a border I think.
The blue top is so pretty! How funny to find all those green triangles. Sounds like you have enough to maybe make a couple baby quilts if you add in the purple.
You're spinning pretty! I'm sure the greens and remaining blues will combine to another lovely design.
It sounds like the size settles your thoughts and mine on the border thoughts . And such bag full of lovely triangle prints to work with.
I love pinwheels and I love shades of blues, perfect :)
Nice size and looking beautiful all sewn up. Liking your idea of another with a mix of colours.
