Getting ready..............

Cutting batting and making backings has been on my mind for a couple weeks so yesterday morning I finally got to it.  I haven't pressed the backing yet but it is pieced.

Yesterday afternoon was the birthday party for my 1 year old great-grandson.  He didn't want anything to do with the cake that was put in front of him.  He started pushing the plate to the front of the tray on his highchair.  Luckily his mom caught it before it tumbled.  He is walking now, even outside on unlevel ground.

That backing is gorgeous! Do you know the name of it?
Our oldest grandson is getting married next April, and we hope to be around when they have little ones. They are both pretty career oriented, so no telling when that might happen.

Lovely backing for that quilt!! Little ones are so funny--you just never know how they'll react to new situations...hope you enjoyed the day...;)))
46 here this morning and overcast; rain is predicted but we haven't seen any drops as yet...Hugs for a great Sunday Julierose

I love the yellow that is used with the hst's and the backing of course looks great too. Sometimes you can't stop those little ones from digging into the cake before it is barely set in front of them and then other times they want nothing to do with them. I bet he eventually ate some.

In the last month, my 2 1/2 year old GD taught me that in her world "cake" now means frosting. She means only the light creamy-fluffy not-chocolate piped decorator frosting on bakery cakes is acceptable.

That's a great backing for the triangles quilt.

What a perfect backing for an exciting quilt top. And your year old grandson sounds like he’s a little ‘go getter’ and to push his cake away is surprising to all of us that have a ‘sweet tooth’.

It's fun to watch little kids when they have very strong opinions!
