Still hand stitching the binding. Here are the 2 fabrics on the back of the quilt. I have most of one long side left to stitch.
I did planning yesterday, sizes of backings and battings. I need to clear off a couple piles on the table and then I can start cutting the battings. I'll be looking for backing fabrics for 5 quilts too.
We got more rain last night around 8. The Chicago news mentioned our town on the weather segment and said there was tree damage and maybe a microburst. The wind was really strong as the storm approached. It was dark when the storm was over so maybe I'll hear more on the local FM station this morning.
Beautiful and wish we could get some rain!

Lovely backings;))) Glad you didn't get any damage from the storm.
ReplyDeleteWe really need some real rain--not just the dribs and drabs we've gotten so far...
66 here this morning and overcast--perhaps we will get some real rains
today...hugs, Julierose
I like those backings. I guess we need to move to Chicago - 106 here yesterday, no rain in the forecast!
ReplyDeleteOh, yes -- thunder in the early evening. Then it cleared off. Some rain this morning but apparently that's gone through. Gonna be steamy this afternoon.
ReplyDeleteI like both backings with the rippling prints on both. Even though they are totally different they make a nice combination to go with the top.
ReplyDeletewe had storms late night and early morning. Jessica drove through some storms on her way here from Missouri last night and then this morning we heard in NW AR where a lot of the family lives that there were really bad storms and some people who were camping in that area had campers overturned from the wind - it was nothing like that here - glad it wasn't bad for at your house
ReplyDeleteWonderful backing fabrics and I love the wavy batik with dots!
ReplyDeleteSounds like you're gearing up to wow us with several finishes back to back in the coming weeks! I look forward to seeing these quilts move toward the finished line and wish you well as you choose a backing for each quilt!
Hugs!
Looks like it's going to be another full on busy week for you! I like the idea that you decide on backing fabrics for a few quilts at one time, a good idea and I must try that, could save time in the long run. Beautiful bright yellow in your Coneflower, do they spread quickly? Can't finish without mentioning how good it is to see your stunning quilt from Colour Shuffle, glorious.
