First quilt top for March.....and the only one..........

The first order of the day yesterday was to sew this top together.  Spa Quads free pattern from Windham fabrics.  The fabrics are by e bond.  I had to go to Free Spirit's website to see the correct spelling of her name.  The lines are Root and Ravel and I used most of the medium and light fabrics.  The dark narrow strips are dark teal and 2 of them are Marcia Derse fabrics.  This top is 60" x 80".  This was a fun fast quilt top.

I got the binding cut and sewn onto the Maria Derse quilt and started the hand sewing.  The background of the outer border is a very dark brown and the quilt backing is a black background print.

It got up to 59 yesterday so I went out to the back garden again and broke off a lot of the flower stalks from the Rudbeckia plants.  There is more clean up to do but we were in for some heavy rain early this morning and and lighter rain over the weekend.

I haven't begun to cull out the dead stalks in my front small garden spot...
Our daffodils are just starting to bloom.
38 this morning with that cold blustery wind...today will be spent prepping for the family visit tomorrow..
HAPPY EASTER to you and yours, Hugs, Julierose

  2. The fabric with turquoise and chartreuse caught my eye as I have a fabric pull in those colors ready to cut into. Hooray for hand sewing with MD fabrics - they have such a lovely hand. Hope you have a great weekend.

  4. I've enjoyed the progress of these blocks with these fabrics -- how terrific to see the entire flimsy. Last night's rain has pushed through; early morning fog; now just overcast.

    Happy Easter, Wanda!

  5. ‘Spa Quads’ is one uniquely different patterns to see. And good to see you’ve begun the hand stitching on your binding for the stars. Knowing you …. it too will make to the finish line for March.

  6. What a fun quilt you've just put together and am glad you enjoyed it so much!

Well done in getting started on that binding, too.

75*F and sunny here but in the coming week, we'll have several nights back in the 30s*F.

    Hugs!

  9. Very unusual quilt. Looks fun. It has been cold here outside with a real bite. Daffodils are not quite in full bloom.
