View from the computer chair...............

I removed the batik orphan blocks from my design wall and took them to the basement.  I will work on a double design wall down there with a vertical column layout.

I took the pile of 9" LeMoyne stars made a couple years ago and put them up on the wall.  I think I will look for a large floral fabric for the blank spaces.  The blocks might end up back in a pile....

My 2 youngest great-grandsons came to visit yesterday morning and they brought me a beautiful bouquet.

Today I need to prepare a couple backings and cut one batting.  Not my favorite job.

We have had some sunshine lately and they are predicting mid 50s for a few days this week.  The famous groundhogs said we will have an early spring but that might mean a cold May.  I would like to see a normal spring for a change.

  1. Oh yes, a normal spring would be nice. I’m enjoying the added daylight each day and am hoping the daffodils don’t get to ahead of the weather. I find orphans hard to work with so am taking a cue from you to sort them by size….maybe something will gel :)

  2. I hope you get the inspiration to move forward with your star blocks. The flowers were such a sweet gesture. I received some from my daughter last week too!

  3. I bet it was nice seeing the great-grandsons. Having children in the house for me always seems loud as I don't have any around usually. Pretty flowers - neat colors for the stars.

  4. What a cheerful bouquet from two young gentlemen! The stars would look great with a busy batik alternate print. This late-March-like weather is pleasant but when the cold returns everyone is going to grumble. At least we aren't facing torrential rains and landslides like coastal California. (And CA mountain snowfall 2-3" per HOUR!)

  5. Really pretty LeMoyne Stars...
Lovely bouquet--flowers do cheer us up on these cold days, don't they?
24 this morning--wha??? happened to that warming trend they predicted???
We do have beautiful sunny skies though...hugs, Julierose

  8. I too hope you find a perfect floral to go with your stars. They are so pretty. Your stash is amazing I will be surprised if you don’t find one.

Your bouquet is lovely, and to be gifted with flowers I know warms your heart. Especially from great grand children.

  9. What beautiful Lemoyne Star blocks! I hope they don't go back in a box as they are dynamite.

Pretty, pretty flowers and what a sweet gift from your GGSs!

I join you in wishing for a normal winter and spring normal and at the usual time. Sigh!

    Hugs!

  10. Your LeMoyne Stars are so pretty. I have every confidence you will find the perfect fabric or fabrics to go in between. It would be too bad to send them to time out in the basement again!
And what pretty flowers! Very nice surprise.

  11. As soon as I saw those blocks I thought a great floral print for the filler blocks would look great and then that’s what you wrote. Get those made into a top. How nice the great grands brought you a beautiful bouquet of flowers!
