I cut 80 sets of pieces for these flannel blocks and got 64 of them sewn last night. I cut a lot of dark fabrics yesterday and will cut more medium value pieces today.
This is one layout I am considering.
Here is another layout. I have used both of these layouts before and liked both of them.
I'm also cutting 3 other shapes for 2 more flannel quilts as I cut for this one. I'm using up most of the small yardage pieces, less than 1/2 yard. Today I will probably need to start cutting into the pieces that are larger than a half yard.
Four of my cactus plants have buds on them. Two of them are the champagne color, one is orange and I think the 4th one is either dark rose or red. Today is going to be cold, only reaching the high 20s but they are promising sunshine.

I haven't gotten any more blossoms off of my cactus's since January I think. The two final amaryllis's have leaf's on them but no buds it appears.
I really like the Xs and O's layout a lot...;)))
I got an "on sale" amaryllis that came with almost white growth..I have never seen this before...so I have been gently watering it and it is turning pale green; so I hope it's okay...It is called "Picotee"--white with thin red rims...
Snowing again overnight and today...light fluffy stuff with not much accumulating...hugs for a great weekend Julierose
My initial impression is Xs and Os, but the zigzag cascade is appealing. I got our amaryllis started late. The foliage is lush. (The one I gave our neighbor has three huge blossoms. I bought them at Lowe's this time (cheaper than Stein's).)
We had freezing temps last night (the ready to bloom daffodils are protected with our large (empty) flower pots). Two or three more nights ahead to keep them covered. You are on a mission with the flannels!
The blocks you've made offer interesting setting choices so have fun deciding which way to go!
I have some of the pretty leaf fabric (in both cotton and flannel) that's in the top photo. Love that fabric! Okay, I need to make a flannel quilt.
Hugs!
Flannel Fun has begun and it is so nice to see your many prints and wovens blocks ready to layout and stitch. I look forward to what you decide for your pattern.
We had -4 below this morning and now with beautiful sunshine. Makes me think it’s warmer than it really is. I’m waiting till it hits 10 degrees before I go for my daily walk.

Both layouts look great. The flannels just scream cozy. I have a few blooms on my cactus and a couple on the orchid! Wow, flowers in February when it is 24 outside.
There is nothing better than a warm flannel quilt on a cold winters night. I love them and the weight of them . . . a giant hug from the cold.
Gosh the flannels are keeping you busy whilst you're dealing with the cold temperatures. I don't recall ever seeing any flannel quilts in NZ but they'd be a great idea for the lower parts of the South Island. I'm saying here how I love all your red quilts posted 14th Feb - and I also missed the beautiful batik Bear Paw quilt, saw the top but earlier but no border then, I do like the mottle blue you've used.
I really love a flannel quilt xo
My Mom made an XO quilt once. It was really cute. I think this block is as versatile as the half square triangle.
