5 more seams.........

Lots of sewing yesterday.  I got the bottom half of this top webbed vertically and I have completed 2 horizontal seams.  5 more seams across this piece and then I need to sew the final seam joining the 2 halves.

This is the top view of the cacti that are starting to bloom.

Now I know one is deep rose, one is pale pink, one is white and maybe 2 or 3 of them are champagne color.  By the end of the week I should know all of the colors.

I was so happy the white ones had buds.  My big white cactus was doing poorly a year ago so I separated out the best pieces and threw away the rest of the plant.  I wasn't sure the pieces were going to survive.  I think these are birthday cacti that are celebrating with me today.

  14. And sew your quilt grows to the point that the finish is in sight for your quilt's center!

Your cacti have such enticing buds. I wonder if any of the flower colors will be a surprise?

    Happy Birthday to you, Wanda!

    Hugs!

  15. Happy, Happy Birthday, Wanda!
I have so enjoyed watching this quilt come into being. The narrow light stripes really add a charming way to group these fantastic, Kaffe , colorful squares. You have another winner.
Thanks so much for your terrific blog. It's a terrific way to stir creative spirits. Marnie

  16. Happy Birthday, Wanda. I hope you got some of that good chocolate again. My cacti have started blooming. Two big ones in bloom on the side that gets more light and buds on many of the smaller ones. Combined with the potted geraniums that are still bloom, it makes for a cheery sight on these gloomy days.

  20. Happy Birthday! Your quilt is really coming together now. And your cacti! I'm trying to get last year's amaryllis to re-bloom. It produced a baby and I have hopes it will grow too.
