This is the last group of blocks for the Australian 16 patch and there are 2 blocks of each. I haven't pressed them yet so they can't go up on the design wall yet.
I pressed all of the other blocks after lunch yesterday and got them up on the design wall leaving openings for 8 new blocks. I will need to move some blocks to new places I'm sure as I get the last group mixed in.
I filled my bird feeders yesterday because we have snow predicted for late afternoon and through the night. I wonder if the predictions are right this time.
I found some Australian fabric on sale on ebay, a person with 100% satisfaction rating. Most of it was around $7.99 a yard. Two hours after I placed my order I got an email that my order was cut and packaged and a label has been created. Now it is all up to USPS to get it here.
Wonderful combination of color and value. I am sure you will find and make the other missing blocks to complete a tribute to Australian fabric quilt.
ReplyDeleteGood morning! Forecast as of yesterday evening was 5-8". I have a meeting tomorrow morning that required driving a distance (18 miles or so) with others coming from elsewhere in Lake Co. The group's president and I (the secretary) decided to change it to Zoom for everyone's safety. .... And this morning they're saying 3". Better safe than sorry!
ReplyDeleteBut back to quilting: what's your favorite store (online or not) for Australian prints?
those new blocks are so pretty!! Great that you found more of the fabric to finish off your piece--and at a good price (what they used to chard per yard a few years ago).
ReplyDelete35 and sunny once again today but with a really cold WNW wind; I go for a haircut this afternoon and am hoping to be feeling a lot better by then.
This Long Covid is really stubborn!! ;(((
Stay safe, hugs, Julierose
That is great you were able to find some fabric for the back at a reasonable price. As you make these blocks I recognized several prints that I have in my stash. That light teal color in the upper right - I have a bit of that and it is really pretty fabric.
ReplyDeletesounds like you won't have to wait long for your fabric. Hope you don't get a lot of snow - it is raining here of course
ReplyDeleteCan’t wait to see your last blocks worked in, to complete this beauty.

So happy to hear that you found more Aussie fabrics at such good prices so hope one or more will be the border lengths you need. Love the quilt!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
I got notification this morning that my order has shipped! That's pretty amazing! Can't wait to get my hands on it. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThis is looking so good.
