Some visitors are coming to my area for a few days so I had to shop for a few ingredients and then spent 5+ hours in the kitchen.
I started out with peanut butter cookies.
Next was the first batch of Chex mix. I made another batch at the end of the kitchen session so I could use up all of the ingredients.
After the first batch of Chex Mix I baked Kringlas. The dough had to be refrigerated for a couple hours so they were mixed earlier in the day.
In the evening I had 2 TV shows to watch so while the first one was on I sewed more stratas for Australian fabric 16 patches.
While I watched the second show I sewed the 2 different triangle sequences for Bear Paw blocks. There are enough there for 4 blocks.
Today we might get some snow. This path of this storm has been hard for them to predict and it looks like it will mostly stay south of us and we might get more rain.
Certainly a lot of baking! I don't mind baking,it is the kitchen cleanup afterwards that gives me pause. I make most everything from scratch due to my husband's celiac disease and low carb diet. I don't mind cooking- but the cleanup always weighs me down. Love the sewing progress.
ReplyDeleteYou were certainly busy as a bee;))) Those cookies and chex mix look delish!!
ReplyDelete31 degrees here early this morning but nice and sunny out there...
hugs, Julierose
you got a lot done, sometimes it makes a nice change being in the kitchen
ReplyDeleteThose are some good looking goodies you made! I hope you put a few in the freezer for yourself. The Australian stratas are so pretty.
ReplyDeleteYou had such a productive day. Everything looks delicious and the sewing is as beautiful as your baking.
ReplyDeleteLots of delicious fun treats for your guests coming in. And yet you had enough steam to sit down and sew more before the day was over.

Beautiful fabric, as well as yummy snacks. Looks like you had a pretty satisfying day. Yesterday was my quilting group and we have been playing this game where the winner takes home 5 inch blocks that each of us cut from our scrap pile. Yesterday I was the winner and I had a sweet colorful pile of fifty 5 inch square pieces to add to my stash. It's always fun getting little pieces of fabric that you don't already have.
ReplyDeleteThose cookies look so delicious! I made Chex mix at Christmas and it was so good I had to make another batch. It's a good thing we are no near neighbors!
ReplyDeleteI am really liking those Aussie blocks, and the bear paws.
