Need 8 more blocks...............
I was guessing yesterday when I thought I needed 5 more blocks. It is actually 8 that I need. I know this isn't the final layout but I think I am getting closer. Seeing all of the blocks together I think I need more green blocks. I may eliminate some that are on the wall if I make another batch of green blocks. I would like to sew another 2 row section but I don't want to rush it and regret it later. Maybe the white background Charley Harper blocks need to come out. I think that next section (below the 2 sections that are sewn) needs more green. My goal is to have it sewn together by the end of the month so I have 20 more days. I probably won't show it again for a few days and will get some cutting done for another project.
I ordered some of the new Kaffe collective fabrics and I'll photograph more today. The one on the left is a Kaffe recoloring of an older fabric and it is lavender. The middle is a new Philip Jacobs print and on the right is a new Brandon Mably print. I ordered some quarter yard groups from Glorious Color because they are the only place I know that cuts straight quarters of Kaffe fabric. Everyone else does fat quarters.
Arboretum supreme ! This is a quilt top has always me fascinated, and I like the light to white CH blocks too. Don’t take them out they add sparkle to it. I Ike your new fabrics especially the the floral, its so lovely.
ReplyDeleteI heard the TRACE ADKINS concert was sold out at the Fair last night , crowded all day.

Your Arboretum is coming together so nicely...I am still "dithering" about with my Melange (zipper) blocks...can't seem to get a handle on this smaller piece (5x60--I definitely don't want it any bigger so adding more isn't the answer--perhaps removing some? I shall see...hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteI love all three of your new fabrics!
ReplyDeleteGood to know about the straight cuts vs fat quarters from that store. I just keep learning all kinds of things from you. And my current project which includes Kaffe's blue/purple huge chyrsanthemum fabric in large pieces is coming right along.
ReplyDeleteI just adore this quilt. The shapes, the colors, the arrangement- makes my knees weak.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt is looking fantastic!
ReplyDeleteThought of you when I was at the Expo and several vendors had signs announcing the new collection.
ReplyDeleteThat Brandon Mably print is a real eye popper!
ReplyDeleteAlmost getting to a finish.it looks fabulous
ReplyDeleteDid you make your blocks the same size as the original? I’m thinking of making this quilt out of Kaffe if I have enough variety. Yours looks great!!
