I spent hours yesterday looking for specific photos and information so I didn't sew anything, didn't even pet fabric but I did cut a piece of batting. Last night in desperation for a photo for today I made a collage of the quilt tops I made in the first 6 months of this year. I have no control over which photo goes where or what size the photo is in the Picasa 3 collage maker. 5 of them are finished quilts and two of them have been gifted already.
I think I found all of the photos I was searching for so maybe today I can have some fun.
I think the computer at times is a time sucker- not even using Pinterest or social media- but keeping tracks of photos and patterns. The quilts are wonderful and I always marvel at the quality, variety and professional level of composition and color that you create and share.
ReplyDeleteThat is a grand collage of this years quilt photos and I never tire of looking at them no matter how many times I see them. And I know I will check back again later today just to look again.

Oh, I know -- it is such a challenge to figure out how to index and store photos. I have to rely oh my person random access memory (that is, my brain) to figure out approx when a photo might have been taken. My ideal is one site with secure (=long term) storage that allows multiple tags (maybe five? maybe ten?) and boolean searching (e.g. "batik AND quilt AND 2020"). That said- - your collage is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful collage - glad you were able to find the photos you were looking for despite the hours of searching. My photos are stored in iPhoto and I create an album for each and every quilt project (hence the unique names). If a quilt is later gifted or donated, its album goes into the Gifted or Donated folder. I'm glad I can assign the "key cover photo" because sometimes I can't remember the quilt's name so I have to search the album covers to find the one I'm thinking of. I guess there's no perfect system.
ReplyDeleteYour collage of quilts is a work of art in and of itself! When I started quilting about 10 years ago, I began keeping photos of my quilts in a tab at the top of my blog, by year. I update it every month (from that month’s posted blog finishes) and start a new tab every year. I only missed a photo of one quilt near the beginning of my quilting journey.
ReplyDeleteThat is a lot of quilts in 7 months. Do you give most of them away?
