I typed yellow into the search box at the top left of my blog and scrolled back through posts that referred to yellow. The wallhanging top was just completed earlier this year and the table runner is from many years ago. The table runner has a lot of gold in it and I'm not sure I want that much gold in this new quilt that is trying to form.
Most of the photos were yellow flowers. These were all taken in years past.
I had one chance to get outside yesterday morning before the heat blast hit us. I spray painted 4 of my larger old pots that had seen better days. I meant to take a photo but didn't remember until I had brought them all into the garage when it started heating up outside. It was 91 degrees in mid afternoon with a feel like temp of 110 and 79 degree dew point. My house was tolerable without turning on the A/C because I closed it up early in the morning and turned on ceiling fans. I went back out to water my pots later in the day and when I came in I realized how much cooler my house was. Since it is going to stay hot and humid all night I will have to turn on the A/C today with 97 degrees predicted. 90s predicted the 2 following days too.
Temps on the interstate in Nashville hit 102 as we were driving home yesterday! Ten degrees cooler by the time we got to the Plateau. Now you know the main reason we moved.
ReplyDeleteI just love that yellow bird piece--Something similar is on my list...[dare I try yellows???] Most of my fabrics [and especially yellows] are florals and/or
ReplyDeleteprints, anyway. I only have one box of mixed solids. I need to find a pattern to use up what I have...
Note: I did have to order more of the Kismet line for background to my hexagons...that gold color in fact...it is a gorgeous hue...
Hope you can stay cool...hugs, Julierose
that is good your your house stayed cool enough yesterday with out the A/C I need to shut all my blinds today to keep it cooler
ReplyDeleteI enjoy it that you are including us in your process. From the fabric pull, to pattern choice, I can't wait to see what direction you take.
ReplyDeleteNice to see yellows from the past, I too remember the top with the black ‘n white. But pretty table runner I can’t remember .
ReplyDeleteYour hot steamy weather sounds so unbearable…. And here we’re having snow in the mountains and quite cool days in the 50’s.
