I decided I need to quilt something before I start piling things on the longarm table again. You know, flat surface, piles......... I went for the smallest one waiting to be quilted on the longarm. Also the oldest one; the top is from 1991 with side borders added last month. I just did a lot of wild and crazy loops.
I think the only reason I left it unfinished for so long was that the proportion was not good. It was too narrow compared to the length. Now it is 37" x 53", just right for an adult lap quilt or small child's quilt.
The backing and binding fabric is from the same era and in fact there is some of it in the front piecing.
We got an inch of rain yesterday starting a little after midnight and the temperature was in the mid 40s, 20 degrees below the normal average temperature for early May. Next week they are talking mid 80s and humid. One forecaster said it would be mid-July humidity. Too soon for that........

Very pretty finish on this "oldie but goodie";)))
And another gray chilly day dawns here--I suppose we will awaken one morning to heat and humidity...looking for mild warmish days myself...none so far...

It came out wonderful. My husband always mutters than no horizontal surface is safe from me. The roofers started yesterday after a 3 wk delay and it rained in the afternoon. Still raining this morning. I fear my garden will be toast at the height of tulip blooming. Congratulations on the finish!
Congrats on getting that quilt done. The fabric you used for the borders was perfect.
Happiness is completing a quilt that has waited so long for a finish and a lovely finish it is.
No matter where we live, weather is always the masking topic of the day, and especially this past year with Mother Nature giving us such unseasonably changes throughout.

MAIN TOPIC OF THE DAY…. NOT MASKING…. And I read my comment before posting and these computers that decide to change our thoughts is so frustrating !
I know you must be relieved to get this oldie but goodie finished. It's very pretty, btw.
It's always so satisfying to get an old UFO finished and it looks great too!
