I recut the strip above the stars from another place in the fabric so the black flowers would be smaller. I also tried a couple pieces of it above and below the bottom star block. No decisions yet. I spent time cleaning up the kitchen after the marathon baking and generally slowed down for the rest of the day.
I'm still looking for the squares made of 4 quarter square triangles. I didn't find them but found a bag with half square triangles paired and ready to sew. A little mindless sewing. I just needed to be feeding fabric through the machine.

Wishing you a Merry Christmas. It’s nice to bake but also wonderful when the kitchen is put back to rights :)
I just put my machine away for a couple of weeks. I've got lots of wool so knitting Beanies will keep me occupied for a while. No plans to go out - will stay home warm and safe and maybe do some de-cluttering. Wishing you lots of joy for all your upcoming sewing projects - looking forward to seeing your final tally of finished quilts for 2021 :)
I have also closed up my sewing room for a while. I need to recuperate fully before i return to it...I like the smaller flower look; lots of nice 1/2 square triangles to work with there...hugs, Julierose
Merry Christmas and I am glad to be done with baking and I bet you are too. I have enough snacks in the house to nibble on that I think I will keep them in the freezer and just take out a couple at a time for now and let them last awhile. In tend to be visiting for a couple days with the girls and just relax - the quilt design is looking great.
Merry Christmas, Wanda
Thank you for gifting us everyday with your insights and photography. Most of all thanks for sharing your creative use of color whether in your garden or in your glorious quilts. The sweet treats you share are an added bonus. Marnie
THIS is how I thought my orphan blocks would go together. Yours all have the KF fabric in common and are closer to the same consistent sizes. Mine were SO all-over-the-place. I really like the way you are putting yours together!
Merry Christmas my friend - enjoy every possible chance to fondle some fabric and THANK YOU for sharing yourself with all of us. You are amazing.
“I just needed to be feeding fabric through the machine.” I know that feeling, Wanda! That’s my kind of meditation too. I hope you make time for that during this busy time. Merry Christmas!
This quilt has always looked like a “Mary Engelbreit” creation to me. Kinda whimsy and lots of fun. I like what you did with the strip above the stars.
Cleaning yesterday felt like a marathon to me yesterday too, it felt good to set down and knit last night.
A wild wicked snowy wind storm came trough late afternoon. This morning only 30 but an Arctic front is on the way for next week. Merry Christmas Eve to you.

Merry Christmas Wanda. Wishing you the best for 2022.
Time for a well-deserved rest, short though it may be. A joyous Christmas, Wanda!
Merry Christmas, Wanda! You've been very busy, winding down is a good thing.
I really, really like that quilt you are designing! Making a feast out of leftovers. You are the master fabric chef!
