We were 40 days past our average first snow in this area and 287 days since our last snow. I wonder what the rest of our winter will be like. The snowflakes were huge when I took this photo.
I took this photo before lunch and it snowed for a couple more hours after that. By evening we were up to 34 degrees and some of the snow was melting already.
I loaded this quilt on the longarm about a week ago and finally I quilted it.
The top thread is Superior Rainbows in a pale variegated color. Since the quilting really doesn't show on all of the fabric prints I just used a medium size meander. The binding will be a pink stripe and I'll cut that today.

I do love seeing snow photos as it is something I never get and really only see it on blogland.......
such pretty snow - we might get snow flurries this weekend but I think they are changing the forecast a bit to get the rain first and have it stop before the temperatures get cold enough - we will have a drop though big time.
Love the quilt
Ooo, those colors are so pretty!! Love it! Snow is pretty to look at but don't wanna see any in my yard..LOL (I don't like cold).
Beautiful snow pictures--so far none here for us...some blogger friends on a trip from Oregon to California said they've never seen so much snow on previous treks in that area...
Love those pinks in your quilt hugs, Julierose
We only got a dusting here and then warmer temps. Not complaining, as I know it will show up soon and be cold. I have a quilt languishing on the longarm that needs finishing also.
Lovely snow and quilt. How do you "square up" a large quilt like that?
We got a bit of snow yesterday but then it was gone by dinner - the longer we go without snow accumulation, the better!
I love that pink quilt!! I've been thinking about making another scrappy pink quilt and was trying to resist the idea until I finished my current project but seeing your gorgeous pink quilt may be what gets me to start it now!
Your links are the PERFECT antidote for the heavy gloom outside (heavy rain, wind, etc). Really pretty snow scenes, too. Thanks for the daily colors!
that is so darn pretty and cheerful!
The first snow is always magical! It looks so pretty. I really like the pink quilt.
Glad to know I'm not the only one to load a quilt then wait a week before starting to quilt it. For quite a while Ugadi a bunch of basted quilts waiting to get quilted.
I had forgotten about your pretty pink quilt. Your pinks warms my heart just looking at it. And I’m sure it will be warm and cozy once it’s finished .
And I agree there is something magical about that first blanket of snow. But then it fades fast after a week air too.

The quilt is gorgeous. Snow is lovely to see as long as you are snug indoors.
Cheers, Wanda.
