I tried to not get so much glare from the tray so bear with me on the tilted photos. I got the first batch of Spritz baked last night.
The second tray was trees. There was a third tray with about a dozen bells on it. Now I need to start on the chocolate Spritz. They are the favorite so I need to do 2 batches of them.
I get to eat the incomplete or burnt cookies.

I'm not one for baking but I do enjoy a biscuit with my coffee; something I rarely do now as I don't buy them. My motto - 'out of sight, out of mind' helps keep the weight down haha. Your baking always looks tempting - must be hard for you to resist as well. Hope the weather is being kind to you and your garden and things don't get blown away :)
Brings back memories of my childhood. We were not nearly as accomplished with the cookie press as your are!
Reminds me of my Mom baking hundreds of those cookies for gifts and me sitting and cutting the maraschino cherries into tiny bits for the top of the trees or wreaths. Enjoy your broken bits!
Oh yum!! I used to get together with a couple friends and do a cookie
swap years ago--those were the days;))) Today I am going to our local Italian bakery to get cookies for us..such a treat hugs, Julierose
i made some spritz for a cookie exchange this week. i'd love to see what you use (is it a pampered chef pump thing?) and could you share your recipe? especially the chocolate! i'd love to have it. do you have problems with the pressed cookie sticking to the gun? i was having trouble with that, and my trees were distorted... any advice would be appreciated!
Of course! In our house, we call the burned or broken ones "family cookies". I've already made several varieties of cookies, I plan to make Spritz soon.
I gave up the holiday cookie baking years ago. I got tired and grumpy of all the work taking up my weekends and getting no help. I think I cut it down to making one kind each year. Now it's just DH & I, I have time but neither of us needs the extra calories. So now when I have a really bad cookie craving, I buy a *small* package.
My Dad did not like those plates of mixed cookies - they all tasted the same, especially if there was peppermint in some of them. But he did get a laugh at the squirrels fighting over them and getting a sugar buzz and nearly falling off the fence.
these are about the only cookies one of my son in laws likes as it is the only one his mother made when he was growing up and he doesn't like sweets all that much - I do not have the cookie press but my daughter has one so she always makes a batch for him. I guess I should get a press one of these days but I tried one once and found it hard for my hands to press.
I think this is the first year in ages I haven't made spritz. I had forgotten about the maraschino cherries, which we did when I was a child. The secret is to make them fast- press, pick up, and move on.
These are my favorite nostaglia cookies. I was never successful with them, But I sure loved to eat them!
Brings back memories of my childhood, too. We used to make spritz cookies at Christmas
Always, Spritz are a REAL sign of Christmas and/or HOlidays! Better get the butter of the frig and get started! Happy Holidays to you!
I am so in the mood to make some of those. I have to find the sprinkles tho, one store was sold out of them.
I used to make spritz cookies with my mom when I was a kid. They were my favorites! I can almost taste them!
I make these cookies every year and love the slightly brown ones most because those where the first I could eat when my mother made them!
May I ask what kind of cookie press you use? Mine is electric so saves lots of muscle work, but it's about 30 years old and needs to be retired. Thank you.
Wishing you well!
lol...those imperfect ones are just as good! love them as they are so festive...
