36 patches sewn............

My goal yesterday was to get most of the 36 patches sewn.  The 2 on the right aren't sewn yet because I'm not happy with them.  I can't continue the designing until I turn the quilt blocks sideways and finish it with the length of the quilt horizontal on the design wall.  Since almost all of the 36 blocks were just strips of 6 squares it wouldn't have been easy to turn them.  I will be adding 2 more rows of blocks for a finished length around 92".

I looked out my kitchen window and realized the Redbud tree in front of my Maple tree has lost most of its leaves so now I can see all of the beautiful color.

The pretty Viburnum bush is outside the same window.

I walked over to my neighbor's yard to take a picture of the pretty tree from the other side.  It always waits until the first freeze to turn color.  Now the leaves will probably drop rather quickly.

I love the yellow - my big tree in the middle of the yard is really starting to turn yellow now also - it is a type of maple

The Gridlock blocks are looking great! Have fun fiddling around with those 36 patch blocks and coming up with look you are happy with. The leaves falling seems to have gone by so fast.

Have those gorgeous yellows here also. Lots of progress on the quilt.

Isn't that viburnum a lovely pink color? Beautiful.
Going for my first haircut since Covid lockdown...at long last, now that i've gotten my booster shot and all...

Grid Lock is becoming fascinating work of art. I so enjoy seeing how you are combining your fabrics as always.

Nice to see you still have beautiful fall foliage to still enjoy. All our deciduous trees have lost their leaves long ago.

I must say this is an exquisite quilt. Thanks for introducing me to Marci Derse fabrics.I really liked the 36 patch blocks before you sewed the strips together, because of the fact that they were loose and different heights. That really caught my eye. I assumed it was a design wall phenomenon and that the little squares were likely all the same size, but was secretly hoping they weren't. The rebel in me is alive and well.
