I steam pressed the colorwash wallhanging from the back side and then trimmed it. I found a binding fabric and cut the hanging sleeve. Now there is no excuse for not finishing it.
Next I decided to sew the half square triangle for the Bear Paw block that I was happy with.
The claw part of the block is sewn so I might as well go ahead and sew some more.
And now the first block is sewn.
I think I'm going to change out some parts on the other Bear Paw block so it remains on the design wall.
I put individual blocks of the older project on the design wall to simulate the zig zag layout. The right bottom portion also looks like the Barn Raising so now I have a better idea how I will finish this quilt.
I love the barn raising scrappy quilt so far!
ReplyDeleteI am always blown away by how beautiful your piecing is using batiks. Batiks can be hard to sew since they are usually make of a tighter woven fabric. What kind of a needle do you use?
ReplyDeleteTHREE pieces in progress ! ! ! Of course that is you… so you take off a day and BAM ! you come back with “exuberant speed” with new designs and blocks… always love your posts Wanda.

Those HST/4ps could be a frame around a Bear Paw block or two.
