20 blocks..............

I have 20 blocks sewn now and I think I have them all turned the right way now.  I have 2 more cut and ready to sew and then it is back to cutting again.

Here is a reminder of the pattern I am using.  I'm ready to cut some more bright colored strips.  I have repeats of 2 or 4 cut from each fabric right now.  I need more variety.

My grandson came back home for a friend's wedding and he came over yesterday and cut up the big fallen branches for me.  Then he bought lunch and brought it back here.  I set up a table and chairs outside on the north side of my house, the only place there was shade and we ate and talked for a couple hours.  It's hard to believe that I have grandchildren in their 20s and 30s.

  1. Lovely take on the Matrix pattern...I really like how the blocks look with the patterned background.
Nice you could have lunch with your grandson...they do grow up so fast...

  2. Looks lovely with your fabric choices. My grandkids are still preteens with one on the way in November, but I cannot believe how fast they are growing. They still love to do stuff with me which will probably end when they hit 13. Glad you got the yard taken care of.

  3. that is a nice pattern I like it. It is different having granchildren that are grown up - I know last time I saw mine it was strange that my grandson had gotten married and had a wife with him - he seemed to young (only 21) at least he didn't have his IPad in front of hime the whole time like he did last time in fact I barely remember seeing him holding his phone for the whole visit.

  4. That quilt pattern is so interesting to study! I like that you are using all those Kaffe fabrics. Makes me like that gray one even more. Glad you had time with your grandson. So thankful we can cautiously be together again.

  5. Hooray for grandchildren, no matter what their age. I'm liking your Matrix interpretation a lot.

  6. How nice that your grandson stopped by, did some chores, and bought you lunch. They do grow up so fast. My eldest grandchild will be 21 in December. I don't see them very often, however, since all 9 live in TX and I'm in NY.
