Four of the blocks are sewn now and 3 are just quarter blocks on the design wall. 18" blocks look so big when you see them individually but when they join together it looks like smaller blocks.
A couple more quarter blocks are sewn and lots of pieces are waiting. I'm looking for one of the light fabrics that I have used so I can cut some more of it.
I had sewn some Kaffe blocks from scraps about 5 years ago. I got them out yesterday and started adding more strips around them. I don't have any idea where I'm headed with this one but it was fun to have some mindless sewing.
Both projects are loaded with color and look fun to put together. Keep going!
ReplyDeleteThe chisel blocks are so pretty! With all the parts you have it seems you could make a couple lap sized tops. The Kaffe blocks are gorgeous. There are a lot of possibilities for those blocks!
ReplyDeletethose big blocks are so pretty--amazing how they look different when all put together...
ReplyDeleteNice KF blocks...hugs, Julierose
Your creativity just amazes me. I'm so afraid that if I attempted a free style project like that it'd look like a 5 year old did it.
ReplyDeleteOoh! Those Kaffe scrap blocks are so gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteOdd optical illusion. . . those 18 inch blocks don't look anywhere near that big... probably because of the additional star made from the light fabrics in the corner. That's a gorgeous quilt in process!
I'm looking forward to seeing where you go with the Kaffe blocks, as you know I am a Kaffe Fassett fanatic, well I should say all three designers, but not too much the ones from Brandon.
ReplyDeleteI love the look of your star chisel blocks. But I dont have a die cutter and was wondering about making it the old fashioned way, perhaps using 2 1/2 in strips. Could you take a guess how long I would need to cut the strips to join them? Thanks do much. This would be a wonderful scrap buster quilt.
ReplyDeleteThey look lovely and it’s hard to imagine that being an 18” block. Cant wait to see it in full as your setting and design eye creates it, you have a gift for that.
