Yesterday was one of those strange days where I was busy all day but had not much to take a picture of for the blog. I was outside for awhile but didn't take my camera with me. I was in the basement doing a lot of miscellaneous which included cutting the Marcia Derse fabric chisels for my ongoing project.
Here are the first 2 blocks for the project. Since I found 2 more light fabrics to use I wanted to wait until they were sewn and ready to put into the next blocks before I made any more.
I want to make some more test blocks so I'm sure that will be done today. Rain was predicted but now it looks like it will all go south of us. We are at a rain deficit of almost 3" for the month right now.
I really love those star blocks--so pretty--lovely contrast hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteThe blocks have so much saturated color in the fabrics making it a rich combination. Since you did not use solid white, but a mix of light neutrals, the blocks have a rich relationship not just stark contrast.
ReplyDeleteThe rain clearly went South of you. It is pouring here in Alabama.
ReplyDeleteI was able to buy the last yard and remnant of two MD fabrics last week from one of her earliest lines. I had used all of mine because they are such useful universal blenders. I can still remember how I felt when I encountered her fabrics for the first time.
ReplyDeleteThis will be an interesting design. Can't wait to see more of it. We're finally over our snowy days and it's getting a little bit warmer. Like you we're supposed to get to the upper 70's by mid-week.

I like this pattern! It is really looking good.
ReplyDeleteI really like this star block pattern. The chiseled chips around the star makes it glow. As always your fabric selections are supreme.

I am loving this block and all of the colors. It will be exciting to see finished quilt
ReplyDeleteI made a king size quilt out of this chisel pattern probably 10 years ago. I really liked it and gifted it to my son. Are you cutting these shapes with the accuquilt or with a rotary cutter? Love your fabric selections.
ReplyDeleteDo I remember that you are using a die for these block pieces? Your test blocks really look nice.
