Need to cut corner triangles..........

All of the rows are sewn together in this warm color Kaffe collective 16 patch quilt top.  I need to cut the corner triangles now.  I think I have figured out what size they should be.  It measures about 59" x 80".  I think I will cut all 4 corners from the red Cactus Flower print.  It's hard to tell I used 2 different fabrics for the setting triangles.

I looked up the Amaryllis to see how tall it is supposed to get.  It says 18+" and the one bud stalk is 21" now.  The other one is just reaching the support loop now.  It is called Fantasy and supposed to bloom Jan-Feb so it is right on time.  The wax coated has the last bud blooming now.

This quilt! I finally figured out what it reminds me of-an amaryllis! You have been posting pictures of the quilt and your buds together- and now I see it! I love them both, and if you need a name for your quilt- here it is!

I agree, your quilt does look like an Amaryllis--so pretty...
and the plants themselves are looking great...
Have a great weekend...hugs, Julierose

The quilt is so vibrant. I love the way the orange squares sort of float on top. The Amaryllis is so tall.

Wonderful colors, both in the quilt and in the flowers. I wonder if the wax coated bulbs can produce for a second year or if its one and done for them? Don't remember seeing them for sale around here, not that I am ever anywhere to buy one this year!

This is really lovely and you cannot tell that two different fabrics were used in those setting triangles.

I suspect that farther from the light source the Amaryllis is growing, the taller it gets. When you se them growing in the ground in FL (which is startling to see), they remain quite compact.

Wonderful use of fabrics for the setting triangles. I love how they blend into the top.

Today I see an "Emerald cut" 16 patch, pretty even without the corners on yet.

Your waxed amaryllis bulb really out did itself. And to see that last baby blossom open up too. Now waiting to see how your T A L L Amaryllis gets before it blossoms out.

T A L L ... With those spaces I put between each letter was too long to transfer in comment space. I'm sure you figured that it already .

Somewhere I have a chart that tells what size setting triangles and quarter (corner) square triangles are needed, depending on the size of your block. Do you think I can find it? Nope. Love the quilt top.

That quilt looks like it would glow in the dark! I love it! It is nice you will have another amaryllis blooming shortly after the wax amaryllis fades.

Lovely warm quilt indeed. And that amaryllis is going to be so huge! Can't wait to see the flower though! LOL!

Love the quilt and it's colors and the flowers too :-) I am very old school--I fold newspaper sheets into triangles to find out what size square I need to cut to make them. And I always oversize because I like the center to "float"
