I think this is the first time I ever finished the binding in 2 days on a quilt this size. I haven't decided on which other two I will finish so I decided to just keep stitching since this one had to be finished too. I hope to get a better photo later since I really couldn't get a good shot in my main floor studio. It measures 58.5" x 74" now that it is finished.
The back is an older Kaffe Fassett print.
It looks like the wax coated Amaryllis is going to be some shade of red.
The battery was dead on my van yesterday so I walked the seven blocks to the post office and grocery store. It was 31 degrees but sunny and not very windy. A mask with flannel on the inside felt good. I'll need to call AAA today to get it started.

I love this !! Too cold for the battery ? So glad I o longer live back there. :-)
Yikes. You are one talented and steadfast woman. Love your quilt finish and saw that you plan to get two more done for 2020. My jaw fell btw. The onion print is perfect I. This and wrapping up with it for the binding really a nice finish. Congrats.
Happy 2021 Wanda
Ps: I’ve tagged that Kringla recipe to try out soon. Ty.
that is the nice thing of living in town and close enough to walk to a few places - out here I have always liked having a second vehicle so I have a spare which works out as hubby still has his truck that he drove back and forth to work in for so many years.
Love that quilt
I’ve loved seeing this quilt—the onion ring fabric is so fun and perfect in this quilt! Beautiful finish!
God Bless you Wanda, I would probably have called a family member, or one of my neighbors if my battery died in the car, and I had to be somewhere, or called AAA first, had them replace the battery, and then run my errands. I guess because you've been on your own for so long, you just put on your big girl panties, and hiked the 7 blocks to town.
I love this quilt, where a simple pattern, lets the fabrics do the talking, front and back.
And then you had to walk back the blocks carrying groceries? Yikes. Hope you get the battery fixed or replaced soon. The quilt looks strong and confident.
What a beautiful finish on Basket Weave!! I love that onion ring fabric --it really brings your eye all around this piece...
That's quite a walk you had to take...flannel mask is right!! ;000
Hope they can get your car started--we've had battery issues because we haven't driven the cars all that much--only to grocery and for Dr;s appts...
Tom got us a portable battery charger to keep in the car--just in case
hugs, Julierose
I'm not sure which part I like best about this freshly finished quilt, Wanda! The play of yellow and orange around the quilt? !hat onion print? The fun loopy quilting? Congrats!
Lovely finish. I didn't realise until I zoomed in that every block had the onion ring in the middle - I should have taken more notice!. Also I don't see rings; I see fingerprints haha. Your Amaryllis is growing so quickly now - keep sharing the progress, I'm sure it will be a lovely colour; something to look forward to seeing each morning :)
I love that onion ring fabric - it really adds movement to the quilt! Pretty quilt.
That's record time Wanda for hand stitching around your quilt. Basket weave/onion rings is truly one of my favorites. Fun to get a peak of your amaryllis beginning to burst into a glorious blossom.
That walk into town showed up on the Fitbit site last night. (*._,*)

That really turned out nicely. Sorry about the car battery. That is always an inconvenience. Bet the weather would not have been good for that walk today!
Congrats on your finish. I love it. The onion ring fabric is perfect! Hope you get the battery fixed soon.
What a great finish!!!
The onion ring quilt turned out wonderful! Sorry to hear about the battery. Good for you to make the hike to do your errands. Seven blocks can seem like a long ways when it is cold outside. I am looking forward to seeing the amaryllis bloom!
Super finish and I like the size. I always love to see photos of your Amaryllis and may have mentioned that it's lot of years since I had a plant. Remedied that when at the garden centre and I now have a white one in flower! I'll post pics in my New Year post.
Such a simple pattern made into a smashing quilt by your excellent use of color and pattern….using the black and white is brilliant.
