Yesterday was an extremely busy day but nothing to report. I grabbed these photos from 2010 in my nature file. Not too different from what is going on now in the neighbor's yard. A friend up the street feeds the squirrels so I don't see as many in my backyard. They definitely clean up under the bird feeders though.
The guys doing the trim painting on my house are doing a terrific job. There was lots of scraping and sanding to do and lots of caulk needed. I have 7 of the old fashioned storms and screens on my house so one guy worked on that and the other was cleaning up the windows, scraping the paint off the panes and then washing the windows yesterday.

I've been wanting to ask for a while now and may sound silly, but what do your storm windows look like? Is it a permanent window or something that you fix into the space every winter? I've not heard of them here so often wondered. Maybe when the painters are finished you could show me one? Hope your laptop problems are all sorted out now. Have a nice weekend admiring your latest house fix :)
Good morning Wanda. Love your squirrel pictures. We don't feed the squirrels, but have plenty of them running around, especially during the summer, when they like to dig through all my plants and vegetables on the deck. I'm sure you are enjoying nice clean windows and freshly painted frames. It's been awhile since we've washed all our windows, and we will have to tackle that next spring. Enjoy what might be the last of these warmer days.
These are great squirrel pictures. That does sound like a good job to do this fall. Washing the windows and painting the shutters is something I haven't done in a long time. I can imagine how much nicer your refreshed house will be.
Although we don't encourage squirrels around our yard --one wandered in yesterday in camo - gear!! (hahaha see my post;}}} )
We were going to get replacement windows for our two garage windows that look out on our front walk--BUT the estimate for TWO (only 2)
was over $1600--just plain single hung--no storms even.
Their excuses (3 bids): was that it's a too small job; and to get anyone to come out they have to pay them extra--
RIGHT..ya think? I think not--;000
We will revisit that next Spring...
Hugs, julierose
Cute little critters . . . we had squirrels at our old home and had a feeder in the back yard . . . we loved sitting on the porch and watching them play :)
So pleased to see these photos even though they may be from way back, I love squirrels and do miss that we don't have them here in New Zealand.
I am happy for you that the work the guys are doing is great. It is so hard to find contractors that are good.
