Another is the strata for Strips 'n Curves. They both depend on a smooth blend/gradation for the resulting glow in the finished piece. Lessons learned in my class lead to stunning quilts in the future for my students.
I have been working on the 4 kinds of colorwash kits that will be offered to the students this time: Kaffe, batik, floral and African fabrics.
Inside the course, you will learn smooth blend/gradation that can be applied to many types of quilts.
Beautiful colorwash pieces--hugs, Julierose
ReplyDeleteBest of luck, learning, and FUN to those who sign-up for your next class, Wanda!
ReplyDeleteWhat an excellent point you make about transferring the skills that will be learned to other quilt designs. Best wishes with your next workshop!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the curves quilts! I have a pattern and some flannel in Christmas colors to make up later this year. I'm hoping it will work.
ReplyDeleteEvery time we teach a class we revise and refines the process. These are excellent points. I made Strips 'n Curves years ago but had too many fabrics. Didn't think that was possible until then. The strata looked lovely but cutting the pieces showed that they were too uniform within what one template covered. Yours are more stunning because of the movement across the color/value band within each template and block.
ReplyDeleteYour students will learn so much. Have fun.
If anyone is on the fence about whether or not to sign up for Wanda's class - JUST DO IT ALREADY. You will learn things you didn't expect to learn plus skills that, like Wanda shows here, transfer to the rest of your quilting universe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to see many of your designs from the past today. Its wonderful for you to offer yet another Colorwash 360 Class. For those who enroll in your class, they couldn't get a better professional than you Wanda ! Your Colorwash quilts are always so mesmerizing.

What Julie said! This is a terrific class, and if you want to improve your skills with color, TAKE THIS CLASS! You'll probably never look at fabric the same way again, and that is definitely a GOOD thing!
