Bow ties progress............

I added the rest of bow tie blocks and was short quite a few.  I remembered there were quite a few small bow ties left so I added a section of them.  I was still short 4 blocks

I found a little ziploc bag with small bowties with light ties and dark backgrounds so I decided to add them too.

In case you had trouble spotting them here are the 2 sections of small bow ties sewn together.  I started sewing more sections together last night.  I think this one is going to have a border.

I am getting caught up reading what you have been up to since I have been away from the computer since 8/13/2020. You have been busy! So many tops to see! I do like the smaller bow ties mixed in. The blue zig zag quilt with the black and white - just stunning!

I have been watering since like you, there hasn't been much rain falling here. I did notice that my lavender plants are shooting up new blooms with all the water I have been dumping on them. They were so dried up looking so it is nice to see some fresh purple!

I love the bow tie pattern any way it is put together. Mixing in the smaller ones is a really cool visual surprise. Like little hidden gems!

I like those small bow ties in there. It kind of reminds me of the color blindness charts with the hidden numbers. Those have always fascinated me.

As everybody says, the small bow ties look great - gives it that '*pop* you like. We've had plenty of rain the past week so only my wall planters needed a drink. I was going to give them a feed but the rain seems to have done the trick as more Clematis are blooming. Hope your plants get the drink they need soon, as well as your brown grass :)

This is certainly a fun quilt! You must be a great soup maker also!

Love the mix of bow tie sizes! After reading all of the comments - I think you should call it "Bow Tie Soup" (thanks, Linda) - ;))

And just like that, you took the quilt top to an entirely new level!

Very effective, a great idea to add the small size into the quilt.

Having the smaller BTs as little "islands" (rather than as a whole column) works wonderfully.
