I love 16 patch quilts..............

As I searched through my archives I found twenty 16 patch quilt tops and finished quilts that I have made in the last 7 years.  I have used it as a therapy type sewing through difficult times and as a joyful sewing when I am excited about a group of fabrics.  What is different about my 16 patch quilts?  The huge amount of different fabrics that I use in each one of them.    If there are 80 blocks in the quilt, there are usually close to 80 different fabrics.

In my pop-up shop there are 2 quilt tops, a throw quilt and a wallhanging in the 16 patch pattern.

Today is the day for subscribers to the email list.
The pop up shop will be July 7 - 13.  It will open for email subscribers at noon ET on July 7 (today) and at noon ET on July 8 for the public.  It will close at noon ET on July 13. Shipping to US addresses only.

There is a form on my right sidebar to subscribe to the email list or use this link.  If you signed up previously you don't need to sign up again.

I have been enjoying tomatoes for about 2 weeks now.  This is the Early Girl plant and they haven't started ripening yet but I think it will be later this week.  The 4th of July variety has been producing golf ball size tomatoes that are ripening a few a day.  I gave some to my son and daughter in law today.  They grow larger variety tomatoes and none of theirs have ripened yet.

I was pulling out more Goldenrod last night and cutting more volunteer trees.  As I finished I surveyed the front garden and here is a Swamp Milkweed at the opposite end of the garden from where they usually are.

Next to it and the front steps was a Black Eyed Susan plant which also was not in that spot before.  They are usually about 12 feet away from here.  That will give me some nice color in the front garden for the rest of the summer.

Right next to the other side of the Swamp Milkweed is a patch of Balloon Flowers.  If you noticed the vine to the left of the flowers, that is Bindweed.  It is rampant in this garden.  I'm going to try to keep ahead of it strangling everything for the rest of the summer.

What an amazing collection of quilts! All so unique and different. Hate the bindweed. It has not showed up here yet this year. Could it be I eradicated it? It has been so hot, I have not taken photos of all that is blooming.

I love seeing your garden. Bindweed grows rapidly just like kudzu. Good luck keeping up with it.

I ran out of ripe tomatoes yesterday but noticed I have 3 more that will ripen in a couple days - they will be coming in fast soon I think and will be more than we can eat

What a lovely collection of 16 patch quilts. I have made many over the years too, almost too many to count especially if I count all the baby quilts. I agree that the more different fabric you use the better result.

It is funny how nature rearranges itself! It might have been the wind, a bird, or you relocating a seed that was on your shoe or a tool.

Our neighbor grows great tomatoes every year - he shares with us. I love sixteen patch quilts, too - in fact I have two in the planning stages right now. Looking forward to your pop up shop opening.

My tomatoes are not showing any color yet, but I also planted late. I have a bindweed problem too - it's one of the few weeds I'll break out the kills everything weed killer. Canada thistle is another one.

Seeing all your 16 patch tops has me thinking I may move making one higher up the list.

TWENTY 16-Patch quilts in the last 7 years??? Amazing!! I've had a number of "favorite" patterns over the past 25+ years of quilting. I don't think I've EVER made 20 of any of them!
