I am trying something else today with fonts. This is the normal size set to Bold. This is large. Why is there such a difference in size?? I want the large that was available the first time I tried the new Blogger format. And this is the largest font.
I still haven't attempted to find the center circle fabric for the 3 daisy blocks for the previous quilt. Maybe today..........
Here are the first 6 churn dash blocks. Some of the large prints cut up just fine, others have such a wide range of values in them that I'm not sure about them. I'm having fun with these blocks and have more combinations chosen for the next group.
And then I had to use up the rest of the 2" strips that were sewn in pairs. I wanted to use the Onion print by Bradon Mably so it is the center strip in each block. This is 20 of the 30 blocks I have already sewn. I have more strip pairs waiting to be pressed and cut so this will be a throw quilt.

I am definitely "iffy" about my response to the churn dash blocks. My 80 year old vision has trouble with the "chaos,"which I think springs from those large scale prints you mention. BUT I find the 2" strip piece to be just fine: the introduction of that Mably spirals is genius, uniting the piece. Looking forward to that one finished!!!
LOL!! It looks you must be working on that "3 new projects instead of 3 new blocks" thing that we were talking about the other day, Wanda. Good for you! :o))
That Onion print adds such a wonderful movement to those blocks! The churn dash blocks are looking good! I like the lower left one with the greenish background fabric. There is a bit more contrast between it and the churn dash.
The Kaffe churn dash is coming along nicely. I can see why you are having fun with those. I love the onion print.
Can hardly wait to see it finished.
I love that onion print in there. It ties everything together.
I liked the look of the white in the circles (the design wall). Any very light color would work I think, maybe even one of the fabrics you have already used?
Love the churn dash blocks and the other quilt. And I agree with you about the font size. For example, the size as I type this comment is very tiny. On some websites I have to increase the size of the font to read the text easily! So I like the larger font you're using.
I love the churn dash blocks even though they are a riot of colour. Also the stripy quilt is great.
The onion print as used in your blocks is fabulous. I had a small piece of the "pink" onion print - UGH (even when it was cut small). The black and white is definitely better! (and how fun than you are playing with other things instead of obsessing about daisy centers).
I really like reading your blog because you use the large font and it is easy to read for my getting older eyes. Your lovely quilts are the icing on the cake!
