This is pretty typical that we get some snow after the forsythia leaves have started to grow.
The Hostas are peeking up through the snow.
I knew I should have picked the Jonquils Tuesday afternoon.
These 3 squirrels quickly cleared the snow under the bird feeders because I had dumped extra birdseed there the night before.
This is the view an hour later. Snowstorms this time of year are kind of fun.
I chose one of the purple prints that is in the quilt for the binding. I got it completed all by machine at 9:30 last night.
I will hang it on a design wall today and get its photo. It is big and heavy and I wasn't in the mood to do it late last night
I had some elastic pieces already cut to length so I made 7 more face masks. I like to have some on hand when people contact me to see if I have any.
Late snow in April - a long time since I remember us having some. The past 4 days here have been wonderful warm sunshine and I've been doing a little gardening. Even my Hosta's are flowering; the first time for years as the snails have usually got to them before me. My Peonies are almost ready to burst open as well. Looking forward to seeing your TAW on the design wall :)
ReplyDeleteWell, I woke up to the same scene here this morning. At least the sun is out. I am sure it will disappear soon if the sun keeps shining. Going to be kind of cold when I take a walk today, so it will probably be a short one. Hope to get back on the long arm later today after the grandkids go home.
ReplyDeleteApril snows--one of the last years that my Husband taught (Band director, Middle School) he had to cancel a Spring Concert because of a snowstorm...we haven't gotten any snow as yet--but, they predict some snow and lots of rain here in coastal CT tonight and tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteThose spring Stars are so pretty--very light and airy looking...

I think our cold is gone now, we had frost on the workshop roof yesterday morning when I looked out and today is back in the 70/50 range for the week, all the porch plants are going back outside today after they have been scattered throughout the house for 3 days now. The northern part of the state had a little snow yesterday morning - unusual
ReplyDeleteYou've already BOUND the quilt?! I'll be looking forward to the BIG reveal, Wanda.
ReplyDeleteFamily in Michigan had snow, too -- their 2 year old grandson was happy playing outside with his dump truck digging in it.
ReplyDeleteSpring snow seems to be just part of spring anymore. Always fun to see your Spring stars, and looking forward to see the sashing you'll add. TAW binding looks perfect and speaking of looking forward, I'm anxiously awaiting to see your full photo of it.

We had a pretty hard freeze last night. That's really unusual for Virginia. I love your Spring stars and am looking forward to seeing the quilt tomorrow!
ReplyDeleteWanda, I adore the spring stars blocks ~ they are absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThe snow looks to have been disappearing pretty quickly at your place. I saw your quilt on Instagram this morning, gosh it's a beauty!
ReplyDeleteOoh snow. At least this time of year will melt it away super fast.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving those Spring Stars very much indeed.
I've started making some HST for a Spring Stars block as I clean up scraps from another project. I think I'm going to start with just one block to hang on the front door. We've had snow 3 days this week and more expected tonight. The hyacinths have decided they are too tired to perk up any longer.
