Large prints............

I started going through my African fabrics looking for large prints to use as the alternate blocks with the 16 patches.  There are more to go through today.

We did get the predicted snow yesterday morning.  This time it piled up on the branches.  It was mostly gone by the end of the day.

The 2 Jonquil buds opened yesterday and now I have four beautiful flowers!

I hope these photos are still here in the morning.  I'm typing this late at night and when I checked yesterday's post 3 of the photos had disappeared and there was just an exclamation point in their place.  I went back and added in the photos again.

I made 7 masks on Thursday that I didn't show yet.  A friend found a package of 1/8" elastic and mailed it to me so I could keep producing them.  I gave away 15 yesterday.

I made these 7 yesterday.  This is the first time I have used some t-shirt strips in place of the elastic.  My only complaint is that it keeps linting off little pieces.

  1. You have such different African prints than I do and I enjoy seeing what you have in your stash. There is still snow on the ground here this morning despite all the rain late yesterday. The sun is shining so I think it ought to disappear later on today.

  2. I am going to have to break down and make a couple more masks I think as I have a feeling masks wearing will be what we do when out for awhile when you are in a store or setting where you are too close to people. We had a freeze warning again last night and all my plants were brought back into the house again and sure enough I look out this morning and see frost on the workshop roof but none on the ground and 36 degrees - late in April for this for us a warm up starts now this weekend I think

  3. We had wet snow all day that did not stick. Today the sun is out, hooray! I need to make a few more masks for my daughter and her family and get them in the mail today. I have one more pass on the long arm to finish a quilt. Glad to see the photos that did make it.

  4. Those are big prints..I am always in a quandry as to whether use big prints as they appear or to cut them into interesting strips...
I mostly cut them...I love how the strips can look so different from the same piece of fabric...~ ~ ~ waving from under my umbrella ;)))

  5. I read on Quiltville that if you use the word “mask” google dealers your pictures. So “face covers” and “nose nannies”.

  7. There were a lot of missing photos on blogs yesterday and most of them had nothing to do with masks. I think its a Blogger issue which hopefully will be resolved soon. I think we've all had enough April snow. It's time to let the flowers bloom.
